West Indies Tour of Australia 2010

Sometime in the last day I read somewhere that WI last won at the gabba in 2001, is that really correct? I thought in that match Gilly and MEW had a huge opening partnership of about 198, and we won easily, could be wrong though. In 96/97 Lara and Hooper carted us and cantered to win at the Gabba, I think that was the last time..... article is here http://www.foxsports.com.au/story/0,8659,26717484-5018870,00.html

Watson in ODI's has always been a free player, going back to when he started opening 4 or 5 years ago. Bowl him a bad ball and he'll hit it. The runs he made in the 06 CT were classy.

I know there was a match at the Gabba where their bowlers rolled us cheaply in the 2nd innings I think, I know it was at night.

Awesome stuff by Watson, loving this aggressive approach and hes now giving us those fast starts to take our game to the next level.

Wow, not exactly a brilliant start from the West Indies.
Voges is playing :(

Ah speaking of which, even ignoring the score we get, Gayle probably made a blunder putting us in as the ball starts to do a bit at night.

aussie1st added 0 Minutes and 53 Seconds later...

Oh no there goes Watson :( Brilliant catch, its such a refreshing change from the crap Pakistan were showing in the field.

Well at least we know Wavell adds some good fielding to the team.

Dare added 8 Minutes and 13 Seconds later...

The bowlers are bowling 5 good balls/over and then screw it up on the last ball.

See, that irks me, I hate articles that dont tell the full story. It fully gives the impression that Aus last lost to WI at the Gabba in 2001, or at least it doesnt go out of its way to not say that. Trying to make the WI look a bit better I guess, better than saying the last time won vs Aus at the Gabba was 13 years ago. Why let the facts get in the way of a crap article.

Tonge should have been in for Sammy. With Pollard, Smith and Sammy its 3 medium pace bowlers. Tonge can push it into the 140s and trouble the batsman a bit.

Look out WI, Ponting is in a super aggressive mood. I hope Voges just goes for it rather than worrying about his spot although I suspect he will do the latter. He should come in next else we still have no idea if hes a worthy backup.
