As much as I love Mitch, he hasn't shown much with the bat recently.

Probs because he's had to slog every time...

He tries too hard to squeeze a heap of boundaries out and doesn't necessarily back his basic shots as far as he should. He's not really one of those guys who does just hit the first ball hard, he needs to play some easier shots first. Tonight, he started with a couple of singles, then he left one, attempted a dab to third man and just started going for the cross-bat slogs. If he had just worked them all for one, he'd probably only have needed to look for one boundary, as he wasn't going to get enough balls to massively boost the run rate. It was all about getting Haddin on strike.
