It was obviously a batting track, I think the PMs XI would have had a chance if they had more than one guy batting well. Usually the team isn't quite so young. The bowling attack has 30 one day games between them and half of them belong to Hastings.

Gayle predicts a one-day series thumping of Aussies

West Indies captain Chris Gayle has boldly predicted a 4-1 win over Australia in the one-day series, which starts tomorrow at the MCG.

Buoyed by thumping 146 from 89 balls in Thursday's warm-up win over the Prime Minister's XI in Canberra, Gayle said his side had no reason to fear Australia despite their strong recent form.

"It's not (intimidating) to be honest with you, we're going to beat them 4-1 so not to worry," he said today.

The West Indies are missing a glut of injured experienced players, but Gayle said this series provided the chance for the region's young players to shine.

"It's an inexperienced team at this point in time, but at the same time there's a lovely opportunity for the guys to step up against Australia and make a name for themselves," he said.

I really hope this doesn't back fire on them. And if you're going to back a thumping, wouldn't it be better to say 5-0?

Strong Statements. I dont think WI is gonna beat Aus 4-1 or something but they should perform better than Pakistan
