Is white a good enough bat though?

Well he needs a bit of time to find that out, but I think he's good enough to hold down a batting position. He's starting to show that in the ODI team, and I really do reckon he's good enough.

I reckon he's a very solid bat at FC level, he wasn't on his tour to India but that was because he was batting at 8 and getting carted around. He's batting well in the ODIs, his confidence could carry over to Test level. I mean, his seven scores over fifty in limited overs (including his ton) have all come since the start of the England ODI series. He's doing pretty well.

Does anyone reckon Katich moving down to 3 would work? I mean, I know you lose than anchor opener, but if you lose an early wicket, you still have that anchor. And his technique actually failed him in the second innings here. :P
