If Windies pull this off its more incentive to fire the WICB. Also will show just how below Test standard the team that played Bangladesh was. That series should be stripped of Test status.

Good session for Windies but wouldve been better if they had picked up Ponting. Almost got him a few time, some close shouts, the no ball lbw and that bumpball could easily have been an outside edge to slip.

Need Ben to pick one or two up quickly but with batsman like Clarke Hussey and Haddin my money is on the draw

Everytime I see Katich trying to be aggressive, he spoons a drive either to gully or the covers. He should just play his natural game.

If Australia want to do this, I really hope Haddin and Johnson get promoted earlyish. Reason? You'd only abort after you are 4,5 or 6 wickets down and the prospect of Haddin and Johnson trying to defend for a draw is not one I'd be relying on. Get them up the order - use their attacking ability while the game is winnable and try to get the Windies on the back foot. If it doesn't pay off, then you have much better defenders like Hussey and North to ride out for a draw.

Not the worst idea, although may as well leave Hussey. If he bats like he does in ODIs we will be well on course for a win.

Not sure where North will bat. Generally not a four runs an over player.

That was a hideous mix-up! Usually not what you see with Ponting at the crease! I remember the diamond duck he got at the Adelaide Oval against SL in 2006 :laugh

And at people who think the Aussies should play for a draw, there's no chance of that happening!!

Bit poor that from Ponting. I don't know why you'd try to play the cut shot to a guy swinging it in a fair way.

zOMFG! Disastrous! Great bowling from Rampaul, but Ponting had to be the man for us! Poor play! First time he hasn't scored 50+ at Adelaide for a while! It's really on Hussey's head now!

Rampaul is getting good pace, up to 140km/h now. The cut shot is the shot you shouldn't be playing here.

We can't afford to have two left handers in. Benn will wreck havoc then, and the run-rate will probably drop....
