I know still i would prefer desktop over lappy anyday due to its sheer power . Anyone who is in a Uni would prefer a desktop as most of the hostels have wifi/Lan in campus. So you don't have to carry your pc with you to play with your friends. . I got a PSP for gaming while traveling . It has some really great games like Naruto Ultimate ninja impact, 3rd birthday, Persona 3, Little Big Planet Etc.

These days with components able to be smaller and smaller, a gaming laptop is far more feasible. 5-10 years ago, I wouldn't have dreamt of it! My own personally built desktop lasted so long. Even now it would play some half decent games if I overclocked it. That is if it still worked of course.

The day these lean and mean small machine manage to rrun Crysis on Enthusiast settings i will get one of these.
At the moment i expect them to go poof if i try to run Crysis at that setting for more than half hour.

Hardcore gamers don't buy factory built PC's . They assemble them themselves. You would have assembled a beast of a PC for that price and probably 2 or 3 times better than what you got. And as for tech support goes, well I've had my own assembled PC for last 3 years and all the tech support it ever needed is me.

Exactly.......also you got softwares like Hamachi so you can have a virtual LAN set up via internet!
