I ws just wondering that so many fps games get add on packs , why cant we get the same with blic

and how come this game is generations behind in effects and lighting when campared to games like fear ..

cant that technology be used in cricket games ...and if u guys tell me that its more expensive to produce well thats just not right ...cause if that was the case how come we shell out the same amount of money FEAR and BLIC

Why should we get substandard stuff and let companies get away with ...after all we as consumers deserve good products or similar products that are being offered in the market

Codies has done a gr8 job withblic but why cant they produce graphics like fear and BLack sort of effects ..i mean how cool would that be ...if pieces of the pitch actually broke away in real time ..on the 5th day of a test ..

Basically I think its because the cricket game market isnt as big or competitive as other areas, so less time and money is spent on cricket games.
Competition drives these advances if people keep buying substandard games and moaning about it after why would it change? The game company has already made its money of you.

I think there was also a concious decision to focus on gameplay and not graphics. A lot of the initial marketing feedback was that cricket fans wanted a game with realistic gameplay more than one with great graphics. Sadly the wild fluctations in bowling pace and lack of stroke variety meant that we got a game with (relatively) poor graphics and poor gameplay. It's still the best cricket game on the market though ;)

I think Cricket Games needs another 3-4 years to come up with the games like FIFA and Pro Evolution Soccer.I thing is for sure that Cricket games will become better and better by the time.

As Cricket games aren?t EA big titles, so I don't think EA would make them better, I don't know about Codies tho.

As I said, its competition driven. Both companies want you to buy their latest games but they do the minimum required to make this happen, what the genre needs is a young upstart company to enter the market and up the gamebar

Instead of expansion packs for sports games it much easier and more profitable for publishers to just to release a new version the year after and put 2006 or 2007 on it. I think that is what we will see for BLIC next year.

My opinion is that each year there is just little upgrades to the game and there isn't enough that they do but if a smaller company invested into it then they would spend a lot more time and effort into it and continue development after release.

Things may change when HC and TCP come out.

Is TCP going to be a payfor game or freeware? Things will only change if one company manages to take profits off the other or a new company comes into the fore and starts taking money away from both. As long as people continue to buy both EA and Codies games everytime they are released nothing will change, sure we will get small improvements but one of the 2 companies needs motivating and the only way that will happen is if they are hit where it hurts - in the pocket.

I completely agree with this comment, they take us for granted. The cricket games are just to fill in the space between all other sports games. If one of the companies experiances a complete decline in sales of its cricket game, it would push them to work harder to persuade the gamers to buy their product.

Or they might just scrap the title altogether and work on games which they were making big profits off.

Could happen, but basically in business you dont give in to a competitor unless you really have to besides these games aren't written by EA or Codies themselves but by smaller companies who would probably sell their software to another company like sega.
