OK, say that the number of balls bowler by a particular bowler is in cell E6, and the number of wickets they have taken is in cell F6. If you type =E6/F6 in another cell, it will work out the average for you.

excel tutorials goin' on here.
oink oink.:D

this is a formula to find the bat averages automatically, so on that wca spreadsheet you uploaded it should look like this in the "Ave" box [=E14/(C14-D14)]

E14 = Runs
C14 = Innings
D14 = Not outs

then you press enter and it should work. then go to the bottom right hand corner of "Ave" cell you should see a cross click on it and drag it down to the other formats (eg. 4day to t20) hope that helped :)

and then whenever you change the numbers in the runs/notouts/innings column the average column will automatically update.

Well then you have not out in another cell.
So innings in E1, not outs in E2, runs scored in E3, balls faced in E4.

Average is =E3/(E2-E1)
Strike Rate is =(E3/E4)*100

I guess no one else wants me to update their stats for them?

It doesn't take long when I've only got to do a few. Hedger was doing all 40 odd people. And not using the formula lol

If you have/get Excel 07, you just select the cells you want to operate, got to the formulas tab, choose autosum and choose the operation
