Pakistan have won the toss and elected to Bat 1st

1st 10 Overs

Stephen Harmison really troubled the batsman with some exellent cricket. Him and Caddick for England really put pressure onto the Pakistan Batsman right from the word go. Stephen Harmison with a Maiden over from his 1st over was exelllent, with the ball, he produced everything that he needed to. Slower Balls, Yorkers and Bouncers were all in the book for Harmison and the batters had no chance in replying to the wonderful Bowling. Stephen Harmison and Caddick have both bowled 5 overs with Harmison bowling 2 Maidens, and going for 14 runs while Caddick has impressed with 3 Maidens and only gone for 7 runs at this stage of the match.

S. Afridi and T. Umar were opening the batting for Pakistan, as we said, really struggled against the Bowling power of Harmison and Caddick. In the 1st 10 overs, Afridi has hit 20 from 38 balls, hitting 1 boundary and the 1 six. Whilst Umar has struggled big time, only making 1 run from 10 overs, and has faced 22 balls. Pakistan really needs to make this next 10 overs good ones, as the Fielding Restricitions come into place for England which leaves 2 men outside the cricle for the Pakistan batters to put some runs on the board.

England Crusing Along (1st 20 overs)

England have been bowling superb this afternoon against Pakistan in their World Cup battle. Pakistan after 20 overs are 1/65. The great bowling by Harmison and Caddick have really set England up for a crack at this match. But it was the fielding brilliance of Paul Collingwood that really helped England on its way. A throw from slip, hit the stumps before Afridi could get the bat across the line. Afridi made a reasonable contribution to the Pakistan Scoreboard, making 41 from 62 balls, including 5 fours and a huge 6 in the 1st over of play. T. Umar has finally got his runs going, with 22 not out from 50 balls, a little behind schedule, including 2 boundaries. I. Ul-Haq is the new batter at the crease and 20 overs in is 1 not out.

S. Afridi smashes a 6 of the 1st over by Caddick

But like we said, it was the brilliance bowling from Harmison and Caddick that really have impressed England so far in the match. Caddick, making his International Debut for England has bowled 9.0 Overs, with 2 Maidens and only going for a good 32 runs. Stephen Harmison has similar numbers, has bowled his max 10 overs, with 3 Maidens, and has gone for 32 runs. James Anderson has taken up the attack for England now, bowling 1 over which happened to be a Maiden over 1st up. England look in control at the moment. 1/65

Pakistan

S. Afridi: run out - 41 (62)
T. Umar: not out - 22* (50)
I. Ul-Haq - not out - 1* (8)

Caddick, making his International Debut for England has bowled 9.0 Overs, with 2 Maidens and only going for a good 32 runs.

End of Pakistan's Innings

Pakistan back up a poor start with a good Total

Pakistan have posted a good total at the end of 50 overs for England to chase in their World Cup Match at Barbados. After a poor start run rate wise, Pakistan looked all but to get past 200. But to their credit they have posted 247 for England to win. England had Pakistan's measure in the 1st 20 overs of play, but since that, Pakistan really put the pedal to the metal. I. Ul-Haq was the stand out for Pakistan making a good 63 before he was bowled lbw by James Anderson. Ul-Haq played 80 balls, hitting 9 boundaries and smashing 2 sixes over the fence, which really got Pakistan moving. Y. Youhana saw what his team mate was doing and followed in his footsteps, hitting 6 boundaries and a 6 over the fence, making 30. All Pakistan players contributed in some way, and it will be hard for England to chase this big total down.

England Dissapoint at the crease.

England have lost the World Cup match against Pakistan at Barbados this afternoon chasing down a mass total of 247 posted by Pakistan. The England players were dissapointing at the crease after a good day in the field. Ed Joyce was golden Ducked, as he didnt make anything, and was out at the 1st ball. Andrew Strauss and Michael Vaughan were good for England both making half centuries, but that was the only thing for England to celebrate. Strauss played 109 balls, hit 4 boudnaires whole Michael Vaughan played 100 balls, and hit 4 boundaries with 1 six included for his total of 63. But that was all that England could celebrate as Pakistan defeated them by 49 runs.

Ed Joyce was gone 1st ball, England looked in trouble

But it was Andrew Strauss that really saved England's butt from himiliation, and here he is playing some of his strokes on his way to 50
