Amla joins Maroons, and he isn't the highest bid.

While all the franchises are in a race to sign up at least one international superstars, Maroons have caught hold of Amla, for $2,80,000, what one would call a whopping price. But contemplating on that fact that Sachin, Watto and de Villiers got haywire bids, this still seems a small amount. Amla has done a great job in Test cricket, which though doesn't matters much for T30, his average of 50+ and a strike-rate of 90+ is testimonial to his batting prowess. "Amla's a great batsman, the next big thing in International Cricket. Those who think he is only a Test face, should find places to hide, when Amla performs for Maroons, (eh, sounds like a ruler, right?)" Varun remarked. "Amla's overrated," many people who are envious of Maroons bagging him, remarked.
