'Johnny' joins the Rapid Reds

_42969673_cricket_416.jpg

Dwayne Bravo aka Johnny is the new member to the squad of the Rapid Reds. The all rounder from Trinidad was bagged by the Reds for a price of $1,010,000. The manager of the side, Abhishek Sharma said, "We are very happy to get Bravo. First Morkel and now Bravo, we now have two super heavyweights of the cricketing world right now. Dwayne Bravo is undoubtedly one of the bests all rounder for the shorter format of the game currently, and to have him in our squad makes us feel much more stronger. Bravo certainly gets a lot of flexibility into the side as he can bat superbly, bowls amazingly and is very good on the field too. Just the kind of all rounder we were looking for."

Defending Champions Silvers Sizzles to include highly underrated Kemar Roach and Chamara Silva at base price

roach.jpg
silvaa.jpg

Defending champions Sizzling Silvers on Monday signed in two highly underrated cricket players in their squad. One of them is the talented West Indies pace bowler Kemar Roach who have decimated some of top batsmen in the world with his killing pace, Ricky Ponting to name one. He has started his career really well and has got some chilling stats. He has 26 wickets @ 21 from just 13 matches in ODIs & 9 wickets @ 22 in T20s. The averages tells it all how he is performing at the international level. Sizzling Silvers owner Akshay Sharma was pretty happy with his inclusion in the team, He said "Roach at base price of just $50,000 has to be a great deal. I'm afraid, people are underrating him very much. He is a bowler who could have easily gone upto $300-350k in the auction but we are very happy to have him at base price. Would save us some money."
See the comment from the league manager itself,
Wow,Roach for just 50k!

The other underrated player was Chamara Silva who has been playing for Srilanka for last 10 years. He is a class act and has done well in Australia recently and is capable of stabilizing things whenver a collapse occurs. He can destroy bowling lineup too in death over and will be a very useful inclusion to the team.

flinging hell, Dwayne Bravo for over a million, I can't believe it. Too costly.
Yes, I do agree that I had to pay a little too much for him, but his all-round skills make him worth the price. He can bat on any position in the middle order, and can also open the bowling if needed.

He actually serves as a pure batsman and a pure bowler at the particular times, and his performances in domestic limited overs cricket are a reflection of that. He has been performing exceptionally well in the IPL and the KFC Big Bash T20.

First of all , he is not worth the price. He can not bat anywhere in the middle order, he is strictly a no.6 or 7 act, and if he opens the bowling for any team then it shows how weak the bowling unit of the team is.

He has been no sensation in domestic limited cricket to correct you, his place was taken by the big Pollard in MI's team and his performances in KFC Big bash T20 hasn't been that good too.

You are just too over-reacting, probably you are jealous that you couldn't get him. ;)

Its not always that the best bowlers have to open the bowling. I still remember Mascarenhas once opened the bowling for Rajasthan Royals and was superb. Giving an example from WPL itself, in season 2 or season 3 (I don't remember perfectly), I used Rajat Bhatia to open the bowling in some matches even though I had the likes of Nehra and Nannes. Reds did fairly well in those matches and won mostly all of them.
