The Asian Beast decided to go with 3 specialist bowlers and Shakib ,Razzak and Dilshan just a few added option. Same strategy was selected by Down Under Devils. With Mills,Bollinger and Vettori as specialist bowlers and Oram,Styris,Clarke,Watson part timers, the DUD bowling lineup looked more dangerous on paper.

The Asian Beast did not start well with Imrul Kayes being trapped LBW on the third bowl of the match.

But however the Indo-Srilankan pair did an excellent job by scoring a 100 run partnership. It was Dilshan who led the batting for the Asian Beast and Raina just gave a supporting hand. It was not going to be an easy pitch to bat upon and they knew the importance of this partnership. Soon on 102, the Beast lost another wicket and well made partnership between Raina and Dilshan was broken.

It was Oram who broke the partnership with his country fellow mate Styris picking up a sensational one handed catch. Then people expected Sangakkara to come in but it was Kohli who was sent at number 4 position.Virat Kohli to start of with played two excellent cover drives . Oram was then again brought back to the attack and he limited their run scoring by bowling a great spell of bowling. Dilshan now set and knowing the wicket just played the bowl around for ones and twos. He and Virat again built up a slow and steady partnership of 47 runs which eventually turned almost run a ball in 53 deliveries. Kohli was soon bowled by Mills who bowled the most perfect yorker and it was too hot to handle for Virat Kohli.

As expected Sangakarra came in to bat but it was too less left for him and he and Dilshan unbeaten on 5 and 65 respectively left the field with the total score being 158/3 in 30 Overs.

The Down Under Devils started their innings in a moderate and defensive fashion. McCullum and Warner the two most explosive batsman did not go bang bang in this kind of pitch. Their partnership was going well until Bangladesh bowler Naem Islam bowled a superb inswinging delivery to get rid of Brendon McCullum for 21 runs in 28 balls.

In came Michal Clarke and Warner and Clarke were playing to slowly and the Asian Beast bowlers were doing a perfect job. Sangakarra was rotating his bowlers well.

Harbhajan Singh bowled beautifully for his quota of 6 overs. His spell included 6 overs for 18 runs. Lashith Malinga and Naem Islam bowled beautifully for their quota of 6 overs and just gave 46 runs in 12 overs taking a wicket to, Shakib Al Hasan,Shoib Malik and Dilshan bowled 6 overs of part time and to bowled very economically. They together gave 35 runs when it was the most important stage.
