Yep. I really wish it wasn't - why can't they see who wins and base the storyline round that? The fact it's scripted is also one of the reasons why the 'Hall of Fame' winds me up a bit - they won all those titles because the writers wanted them to!

Thats the thing that gets my back up, it may appear that im anti wrestling but im really not, if taken for what it is it can be really good entertainment just like paying to watch a good action film with plenty of violence, which of course is scripted.

But like you say these current and past wrestlers have only gained there titles or legacy's because the wwe wanted it like that, they havent gained them through actually being the best.
The taker's unbeaten streak is a pretty good example, it really isnt astonishing is it? In a game of pre determined results that streak isnt worth the paper its written on.:p

I have to say that I was shocked to see Cena executed AA on The Rock because I was expecting The Rock to give Cena a thrashing. :p

But on the second thought, perhaps I was dumb enough to be shocked in the first place considering that Cena is the superhero of WWE! :facepalm

In a way they have been the best at what they do, you have to be able to entertain the audience to get the push from the writers and the subsequent titles. If you aren't good at entertaining aka John Morrison on the mic then you will stay a mid carder or get released. The WWE have tried making McIntyre, DiBiase into superstars but neither have gone anywhere because of the entertainment factor, so it's not all about what the WWE want.

With the Anonymous GM changing the match result, it's so obvious Cole is the GM. And whats wrong with WWE writers? Not making Taker-HHH match mainevent, they surely are mad!!

I'm delighted that The Rock screwed Cena in the title match! :lol

And how long are they going continue with Undertaker's Wrestlemania winning streak? There is like no end to it. :facepalm

I guess, next year will be his last WM match. He has only Cena to face tbh and I guess Taker will retire with his streak staying at 20-0. 20 will be a perfect no. IMO. And it will be silly of the writers to break the streak I'd say!

Much of the Taker match was predictable, although they slightly got me when Triple H did the tombstone, so that was a nice touch putting that in there.

Guess that won't be happening as Cena will face The Rock at next year's Wrestlemania.

Yep. I mean, in some ways it's fair enough to have a 'Hall of Fame' just by virtue of a guy's talent (HBK being a great example), but it annoys me when they say they've 'won' X amount of titles - because it was only down to the writers that they won those titles. HBK's (and others') God given talents however, do deserve recognition - also people who make the Hall of Fame have pretty much dedicated their lives to the WWE.

Having said that, it still doesn't change the fact that titles etc are decided beforehand and I reckon WWE would be even better if they based the story around who wins, as opposed to the other way round. It's not as if they have to learn a script - what they do is basically 'improvisation' - you're given a scenario, an attitude to approach it with and that's it - the rest is completely invented on the fly. As you said, given all that, Taker's streak is entirely worthless.

Wrestlemania was great - but I was disappointed with the Raw GM's ridiculous decision in the Cole/King match - and Cole is reaching new levels of annoying! I was also disappointed that Stone Cold didn't Stunner Cole! Speaking of Cole, I'd like to nominate him for 'Muppet of the Year':

He looks like such a prat!!

Taker's streak will never be broken - it would destroy the 'mystique' of the Deadman idea. He'll probably pack it in at 20/0.

Did Taker face HHH before for the streak? Or was that HBK?

I also kinda said the same thing, that Taker's streak won't be broken and it would be perfect if they keep it at 20-0. And yeah, Taker faced HHH in WM 18 IIRC. But WWE planned not to bring that up before WM 28 as it would make the fan belief that HHH won't be able to win.

Wrestlemania was great

I found it the complete opposite, had no appeal and relied on the past legends to get it through. Taker/HHH was the only saving grace really, Edge/Del Rio was good but starting off with that was the wrong call and surprise Del Rio didn't win. Rest of the matches were meh for me.

And Taker certainly won't lose the streak to Cena if that match took place. There was a thread on another forum talking about how poor Cena was and how disinterested he looked. They were saying all the boos he was copping was getting to him, apparently he got massively booed in the Hall of Fame show. We might see a change to Cena's character at this rate.
