PRESS RELEASE
Thursday 1st November 2007 (EWR Date)

Due to declining ratings for the WWE's three shows, RAW, ECW and SmackDown, Vince McMahon has sacked all three head writers and replaced them with one man named Luke Gardener who will now be in control of wirting all three shows with support staff. He has promiced to take the WWE back to its glory days but what does that mean? The attitude era returning or something even better than that. The rosters and new sponsors for the WWE will be announced shortly and the new head writer has also confirmed that the champions will remain at the moment until he has considered what different action to take. We understand that RAW, ECW and SmackDown General Managers, William Regal, Armando Estrada and Theodore Long will retain their jobs as General Managers. ECW has also moved to a prime time slot on Fox and will now compete with the other two brands. Let the new era begin!

Sponsors

1st November 2007 (EWR Date)

WWE has come to terms with sponsorship deals with Sports Illustrated, Nintendo and Stacker 2 for minor sponsorship while the major sponsor for the next year has been announced as the next generation gaming console Playstation 3! WWE wished our sponsors well and hopes for a close working relationship.

NEW SIGNING
Sabu has been re-signed by WWE just a few weeks after being released by the company. The reason whcih has been given is a gross error of judgment and the ECW Original will be heading to the land of extreme hoping for a fresh start in the WWE.

SmackDown Preview - 2nd November 2007

The new era of WWE begins this Friday night when SmackDown goes live. We will be just over a week away from Survivor Series and no matches have been announced of yet for one of the biggest pay per views of the year. However lots has been announced for this upcoming edition of SmackDown. We undertsand that Theodore Long will annnounce the SmackDown main event for Survivor Series.

Also this week Rey Mysterio will be the man trying to break the master lock in a special edition of the Master Lock Challenge. Rey Mysterio says that he will be the second man to break the submission move which has been unbreakable for so many. Masters replied by saying he will dominate another with his overwhelming strength.

As well as this SmackDown fans are ready for the return of the Deadman, The Undertaker! He is scheduled for a one on one match with the tough Irishman Finlay. This certainly won't be an easy return match for the Phenom but will he gain a win on his return? Other matches announced for Friday are Chuck Palumbo going toe to toe with Kenny Dykstra and Gregory Helms taking on Cruiserweight Champion Jimmy Wang Yang.

CONFIRMED MATCHES

Chuck Palumbo vs. Kenny Dykstra

Gregory Helms vs. Jimmy Wang Yang

Finlay vs. The Undertaker

Master Lock Challenge - Rey Mysterio

Predictions are welcome 1 point for each one you get right!

Nice animation :p

Rey Mysterio in a master lock challenge? Bit wierd. But might work.

Chuck Palumbo vs. Kenny Dykstra

Gregory Helms vs. Jimmy Wang Yang

Finlay vs. The Undertaker

Master Lock Challenge - Rey Mysterio

Bolded means they will win and master lock challenge is bolded because he won't get out.

SmackDown! ? Friday 2nd November 2007

Segment One
SmackDown starts with a massive pyro and Michael Cole and JBL hyping the announced matches on the card. They then tell the viewers that to kick off SmackDown Theodore Long the General Manager of SmackDown has a major announcement. He is already in the ring and starts to speak to the crowd. He announces that Survivor Series is just 9 nights away and that the SmackDown main event will be a World Heavyweight Championship Match. Theodore Long goes on to say that the Animal Batista will go one on one with the Rated R Superstar Edge at the pay per view for the title. The crowd pop as Long carries on. Teddy Long goes on to announce that later on this evening there will be two pick your poison matches. Batista will pick who Edge faces and Edge will pick who Batista faces so stay tuned to SmackDown!

RATING: B

Match One
JimmyWangYang.jpg
29ftuog.jpg
GregoryHelms.jpg

Jimmy Wang Yang and Gregory Helms have a very close battle indeed. Helms tries to keep Jimmy Wang Yang grounded to take his aerial abilities out of the match. He is largely successful and is able to hit many high impact moves such as neckbreakers and backbreakers. He also uses submissions but then Jimmy Wang Yang reaches deep down and hits an onslaught of high flying moves. Springboard dropkicks, crossbodies and a standing moonsault but he still can?t get a three count. Jimmy Wang Yang goes for a running clothesline but misses and hits the turnbuckle. As he turns around Helms nails him with the Shining Wizard for a pinfall win over the Cruiserweight Champion. Helms rolls out of the ring and grabs the title belt. He returns and stalks Yang before nailing him with the title. Helms then signals he will be the next Cruiserweight Champion.

RATING:C

Segment Two
Kane is backstage with interviewer Kristal and he says that from now on he is going to appreciate what the fans think of him and he has spoken to his brother recently about a plan. He says that he will take on anyone however small, however big and from whatever brand. Kane looks focused and says that the World Heavyweight Champion, the WWE Champion and the ECW Champion better watch out because Kane is on his way to the top of the WWE in its new era. The crowd seem to be really into the interview and cheer loudly for the big red machine.

RATING: A

Match Two
ChuckPalumbo-2.jpg
29ftuog.jpg
KennyDystra.jpg

Kenny Dykstra and Chuck Palumbo get very different reactions from the crowd. Chuck comes out on his motorbike and is given a big ovation. Kenny enters and is given a lot of heat. The match is a back and forth affair with Kenny trying to use combination moves throughout where as Palumbo tries to use his power to good effect. He eventually is able to when he hits the cocky youngster with a huge full throttle for a convincing victory. After the match he says that it won?t be long before Chuck Palumbo gets a title and he is striving to be better than he has ever managed to be before. He looks majorly up for it as he leaves on his bike to a big pop.

RATING: D

Segment Three
Chris Masters enters and talks to the crowd saying that Rey Mysterio will be yet another victim of the Master Lock. The crowd boo heavily as he carries on talking trash. Eventually Rey Mysterio cuts what Masters is saying and enters to the biggest pop of the night thus far. He looks full of energy as he makes his way to the ring and sits on the steel chair in the middle of the ring ready for the challenge to begin. Masters locks the hold in and is tossing around Rey Mysterio like a rag doll. Mysterio starts to fight back though and it looks like he is about to get out of the submission. Masters looks worried and he breaks the hold and clotheslines Mysterio to the ground. He then continues his assault by hammering away on the crowd favourite until he finally tosses him into the ringpost leaving Mysterio motionless in the middle of the ring. Masters retreats up the ramp talking more trash and looking incredibly smug with himself.

RATING: C

Segment Four
The camera cuts backstage again to Kristal and this time she is joined by US and one half of the WWE Tag Team Champions, MVP. He immediately starts to talk about how great he is and starts insulting Matt Hardy his tag team partner. He says that Matt will never be able to become the United States Champion and he should be greatful that he gets to team with the best in the whole of the WWE, MVP. He holds both titles in the air and says that he will hold onto the titles for as long as he lives before saying Ball Game and walking out of the interview area looking very happy with the way he delivered his message to the fans and to Matt Hardy.

RATING: B

Match Three
TheUndertaker2.jpg
29ftuog.jpg
Finlay2.jpg

The Undertaker makes his long awaited return to a thunderous ovation but he hasn?t got an easy match he has to take on the fighting Irishman Finlay in singles competition. Undertaker starts off very quickly and hits some high impact clotheslines and strikes followed by vintage old school Taker. He then goes for a chokeslam but Finlay gets out of it and drives Undertaker hard into the turnbuckle head first. He starts working on the legs of the dead man before hitting his chest crusher and backbreaker. Finlay then goes to the top rope but gets caught and gets chokeslammed! The Undertaker then finishes it with a Tombstone Piledriver for an emphatic victory. Undertaker starts to celebrate but from behind he is attacked by Mark Henry! Henry clotheslines and then throws Taker out of the ring. He picks up the steel steps and busts Taker wide open with a shot between the eyes. Referees and officials stop Mark Henry and Theodore Long?s music plays. He stands on the titantron and announces that at Survivor Series the Undertaker will go one on one with Mark Henry in a first blood match. The crowd pop as Undertaker sits up and SmackDown goes to a commercial.

RATING: A

Match Four
Edge6.jpg
29ftuog.jpg
MattHardy.jpg

In the first pick your poison match Edge is to take on his arch nemesis of many years Matt Hardy. Batista looks to have picked a good superstar as Edge looks very shocked at the decision. The match starts frantically as Hardy hits flying forearms, clotheslines, neckbreakers and clotheslines Edge out of the ring. Edge regroups and gains momentum by delivering a thumb to the eye and then hitting a DDT. Edge continues by locking in a sleeper hold. Hardy gets out of it though and starts to gain revenge by hitting a side effect and then a leg drop. He calls for the twist of fate but Edge reverses, pushes Matt Hardy into the turnbuckle and follows it up with a devastating spear for the win and putting pressure on Batista to win his main event match later this evening. Edge celebrates and says that Batista has just 9 nights before he is no longer World Champion.

RATING:B

Segment Five:
A video is played hyping the giant, The Great Khali. He rambles on in Punjab before his translator makes it know to the whole of SmackDown that Khali is coming to Friday Nights and if anyone stands in his way they will be destroyed and will never return again. Khali is ready to leave a path of destruction in his wake.

RATING: E

MAIN EVENT
Batista.jpg
29ftuog.jpg
RicFlair.jpg

The main event of this week?s SmackDown sees two long time friends Batista and Ric Flair take on each other and at first the two seem reluctant to fight but they shake hands and get on with it. Half way through the match Edge walks on to the titantron and tries to distract Batista who nearly gets rolled up for the three count but he is able to react quickly enough. Batista dominates with his strength and power and Flair struggles to get into the match. However Batista tries to go for a Jackhammer suplex which backfires because Flair rolls out of the hold and chop blocks Batista before locking in the figure four leg lock. Batista doesn?t submit and reaches the ropes before hitting a spinebuster for a win and then celebrating in the ring with World Heavyweight Title in hand to Edge. Afterwards Flair and Batista shake hands and hug as SmackDown goes off air.
