Xbox One

In that case, check Amazon out - last time I was there, they had some very nice and beefy PCs on sale, for around ?400 - the likely price of the so-called 'next generation' consoles...

And remember, these days you don't even need a monitor unless you want to sit at a desk; you can hook your PC up to your TV remember. I have mine hooked up to my monitor and my TV as well.

That's probably what I'll do next. Get a fairly high level PC and use that for gaming. I couldn't afford the next gen consoles or indeed a PC atm anyway!

Do you reckon we might begin to see a reworked system for single player games now, especially shooters? I don't know about you guys, but I am so tired of the current formula of battlling through a tough part of the game, only to die just before the next checkpoint and having to do it all over again, and again and again and again! It's boring, not to mention unrealistic. I'm not holding my breath though, especially in today's online obsessed market.

So they are going to charge consumers for used games. It makes my decision pretty easy now. PS 4 definitely. :thumbs

They charge it for only online features, or the whole game?

That's a crap, crap reason, although it wouldn't make a big difference to anybody, most likely the ones who buy the consoles would already have an Internet connection.

Nope, people living in rural areas will have big problems. If you have internet problems at any point you'll be unable to game for perhaps several days. If you want to game at a hotel or something, you'll need to pay the ridiculous fees for WiFi at the hotel to play your games. Bad for people travelling

I just find it ridiculous that they can decide when you play a game YOU payed for.

This is bad, very bad. Not just for gamers but for the whole entertainment industry. Unless this console fails miserably (which could happen actually), we might start seeing this sort of things for movies, music, hell even TV if they find a way.

I sincerely hope the Xbox One crashes and burns.

I'm with you - they're taking far too many liberties with this.

Yeah, I understand it.

Hoping it fails miserably, miserable enough to turn future companies into doubts over consoles.
