Get some Battlefield if you want a shooter, the gameplay is the best out of all shooters currently out.

COD might be an option too, so would Halo or Crysis 2.

Maybe try Orange Box or something otherwise.

Look around and you can find GTA IV and both expansions for around ?12. Last place I saw it was gameplay.co.uk, but they appear to be out of stock right now.

Games I'm looking forwards to:

Fifa 12 - Rutter is now involved in the PC version.
F1 2011 - the first game was a fantastic stab at the genre.
Skyrim - the follow up to Oblivion, need I say more?

New CoD game - move along, there's nothing to see here and hasn't been for years. CoD needs a ReBoOT.

I was thinking of getting brink but it seems kind of crap so now i'm choosing against Gears and Battlefield.

Any one got witcher 2? I don't have the beast of a PC needed to play this but I am awaiting a console version that I hope is deficient only in Graphics and nothing else .

The only true RPG I played recently was Dragon Age: Origins, and I hated it, probably 6 or 7 out of 10 from me. So I dunno if Witcher will be worth my time, I might try it if a demo comes out. Anyone else got it?

@MaD: Definitely get Battlefield. Gears has nothing on it.

My roomie got it when it came out. Amazing story and cutscenes - I literally thought he was watching a film when I first saw it. But according to him, the gameplay (especially the fights) is too realistic. Because of this, it's unbelievably hard, and gets frustrating quite early on. He hasn't played it since the first day because of this. Then again, we are in the middle of exam season

But yeah, it's seriously good. Perhaps too good.

Go down to a second hand shop and grab yourself a N64 with Ocarina of Time. Best tweaking game ever!

Only game I was looking forward too is Witcher 2 and its finally here... Can't wait for next week for exams to finish and gaming season to start.
Witcher 1 was seriously good. True rpg. Its a shame I never got to finish it. I was 45 hours through the game when my hdd went bad on me. Didnt had enough courage to go through those battles again.
