So I'm largely apathetic this election cycle. I'm not particularly fond of Mitt Romney and I haven't seen Obama do much.

My guy won't get the nomination and I planned on writing him in.

However I have decided that I'll let the majority PC opinion dictate my vote.

So poll will be up once there is an official Republican nomination.

I will vote for whoever the polls says.

Stay tuned

Obama for me. Mitt Romney's an idiot though less of one than Rick Santorum.

I'll consider a write in also.

I'm in Texas so you have to factor that in. There is always a slight possibility here that if Ron Paul runs as independant, he'll split the vote with the Repubs and the Democrats take the state.

It wont happen but it's possible.

A Democrat Texas? I'm pretty sure that's next to the four horseman as one of the signs of the apocalypse?

People have such short memories.

The entire South used to be democratic, even Texas. LBJ was elected President as a Texas Democrat.

Reagan managed to get the social conservatives (basically Evangelical Christians) firmly on one side.

..

also, blacks and Hispanics don't turn out to vote. When they do, they vote Democratic 90% of the time. If all eligible minorities voted in Texas, the Dems would easily win.

It's only a matter of time before we become a fiercely contested swing state.

I'm sure you may as well tick the Obama box in advance (or pull the Obama lever, punch the Obama hole, press the Obama spot on the screen, put a marble in the Obama box, etc...).

The Americans Elect nomination will be interesting, it has the chance of making it much like the 1992 contest if someone of sufficient stature can get nominated and 50 state ballot access.

It almost certainly won't be Ron Paul, I think he will stay in the Republican camp for the sake of Rand's future in the party.

Mitt's biggest decision will be the bottom of his ticket - though if he keeps leaking delegates to Paul, then he might get his hand forced if he wants the top spot.

This is irritating part about Ron Paul.

And it's not so much for his son, but he usually drops out later in exchange for promises to get his legislation passed through.

He's usually the candidate for the libertarian party anyways.

And yea, I'm pretty sure Obama will win the vote here on PC, but will be interesting to see what happens.

One thing for certain, not voting for Santorum.

Hasn't Ron this time already announced he is not going to go back to congress?

I don't know, don't think so. SHould know, lol he was my congressman for 15 years lol

That's because it's Texas. They're all in jail ;)

I hope that encourages him to go 3rd Party then.
Which I think links back to Rand. Ron's decision will be on whether he thinks Rand can build on his influence in this campaign from within the party for his reforms - or whether he has one big final opportunity for a genuine run for the presidency, even if it might split the vote (though you could argue you'll get as many liberals from the Democrats as you will libertarians from the Republicans).

If it is Santorum as the GOP nominee, then the game changes for Paul's supporters and opens a clear gap for a third party.

If Santorum is the nominee then Obama will crush them with or without Ron Paul.

Santorum appeals to a faction of the GOP and disgusts the rest of the country. He can't win a general election, the Republican establishment knows this and that's why Romney's nomination is pretty much confirmed IMO
