Your streaks in the nets

It's a phenomenal job. Not a single day is boring and always different.

My job is to test the game every day, day in, day out. Find anything wrong, something that doesn't feel or look right and report it to the coders/animators/artists to fix it up. Again, play is work and work is play.

I envy you... to put it politely

so i was having trouble as i mentioned earlier, with hooking/cutting. used the marker to set up deliveries so i could get the controls right, and immediately you're just creaming these balls. go back to the "normal" deliveries and again you're back to struggling, watching the ball not the pitch.

taking the marker off the pitch is an amazing innovation, it makes batting immediately more real and more challenging. awesome to be watching the ball.

best thing i have done all day, played a straight drive into the opposing stumps and knocked middle stump out the ground!!

Shot selection is working properly with the PS3 controller. :)

Yeah, I've got mine working fine now too - just changing to Legend for full manual control made all the difference. The controls are still different for me A is B, X is Y, left side shoulder buttons are switched, and right side shoulder buttons are switched, but apparently there won't be any way to change the configuration in game, so I just have to remember a different set of controls to everyone else, haha! Doesn't affect playability though as long as I can remember them all, just means some of the buttons are switched to the one next to them. Probably too much hassle to reassign them through a separate program when I have all my other games set up the same way.

From what I've seen so far, the batting has that essential element of being easy to learn, but very tough to master. And if the sound out on the pitch is anything like it is in the nets, then you've nailed it Mr Ant!

Yeah I can't wait to hear the ambient sound on a match day!

Finally understanding what was meant by the indicator about which way the ball is pitching. That's useful to know. :)

Edit:

Just got a streak of 30 and then it bowled super wide so I couldn't hit it. Accurate bowler's AI on the bowling machine? Haha!

Yes but how many of the shots that you played would've resulted in being caught in an actual match situation? You may have connected with the ball 50 times in a row but that doesn't necessarily mean they all went to safe areas.

Not able to play as my PC is pretty old and waiting for XBox version, but a couple of things Im wanting to know:

1) how accurate is the bounce in relation to the length?
2) Does the length of the ball and choosing between front foot/back foot make sense?

Im asking because I played IC2010 for the heck of it the other day and within 5 minitues I was infuriated all over again about the terrible implementation of length of delivery and the corresponding bounce ie Bowl a half-tracker and AI gets out LBW or Bowl a full ball and gets pulled for 6!?

really hope you guys can get a good idea of how genuine the bounce is according to the ball trajectory and length, because if they get it wrong it messes with the fundamentals of bowling and will consequently be unplayable in my eyes.

Edit: Im unsure if you are able to bowl in the nets so this might be irrelevant, but perhaps you guys can comment from a batting perspective anyway.

Thanks!

good mix. it varies...

some short balls are close to good and you can play them off the front foot. others get big on you and you need to be on the back foot. some good length balls you can play on the back foot.

you can get deep in the crease too, even for full balls.
