Zimbabwe Triangular Series 2010

Just because England thrashed Bangladesh in the recent Test series does not make Bangladesh a weaker ODI team than Zimbabwe. Such conjecture is utterly ridiculous.
I would praise Zimbabwe for their fantastic performance though. I hope they can continue their good form.:)

Not to mention, the Zimbabwe side is more experienced age-wise. Not by much, but pretty sure most of their core players are at least 25-27. Bangaldesh's core players are all 21-23.

Bangladesh have a couple of years to mature as well.

Brendan Taylor oozes class however. Brilliant knock yesterday!

The odds are high in the favour of Zimbabwe to win the final, if they do it should be a morale boost to the players, zimbabwe cricket and the public in general. Not to mention the attention cricket will once again get if they do.

I do not hold out too much hope that Zimbabwe will win the final, they are perhaps a bit too reliant on a small number of performers, Taylor in particular :

vs India - Taylor 81, Ervine 67, Masakadza 46
vs India - Taylor 74, Masakadza 66
vs Sri Lanka - Taylor 119, Chibhabha 119no, Taibu 42no

Taylor could easily fail, he made just two when Zimbabwe lost with Masakadza's 62 the only score over 11

Not to mention all their wins are batting second, they batted first against Sri Lanka in the one game they lost.

of the team that zimbabwe beat, only Dilshan is a full first choice international, Randiv, Thushara and kapugedera are on the fringes and samaraweera isn't normally selected for ODIs.

the maturity they've shown is the real promising thing, but I wouldn't get over-excited about this. bangladesh are probably more talented, and they played each other a fair bit last year and zimbabwe were comfortably beaten both home and away.

Zimbawe is now completely different team from last year imo. They now play every match with the mind of winning and not just doing well. Their performance this years proves it.

Don't know why everyone is hyping Zimbabwe a lot, yes they did beat india and sl but those were their second string squads and FYI Zimbabwe is not better than Bangladesh.

I still think Zimbabwe will be crushed badly.

I feel Zim can create history today. They're hungry for this with some really in-form players vs a mostly inexperienced side led by Mahela who's been struggling since the Triseries in January.

yeap, Zimbabwe have to beat Lankans today, to come back in cricket with a bang.
If they will not be able to, then will be feeling sorry for them.
