At first sight you might think it is out. But it is not. Actually the ball was not destined to meet the stumps, so the umpire gave it not out. The ball would have gone above the stumps.

Zimbabwe VS South Africa At Centurion (ODI)

Welcome to Centurion for the One Day International match between Zimbabwe and South Africa. It is a good day for cricket here .It is a clear blue sky with a few clouds dotted around. But except that it is an excellent day for cricket. The pitch is wet due to recent rain and the outfield is expected to be quite slow.

Playability: Ball will seam around a bit in the beginning. As the match progresses, The pitch will get dry and cracks will appear which can be helpful to the spinners.

The Toss:

Zimbabwe won the toss and elected to field. Seems to be an interesting decision. Will have to wait and see whether it was the right decision.

After 26 Overs, 1st Innings

South Africa began their innings well posting 158 runs for the loss of 4 wickets. The first wicket partnership of Smith and Gibbs was probably the key.

The match:

South Africa began in style, scoring almost 100 runs in 15 overs. In which Gibbs manage to make a half-century in 56 balls. However in the 17th over Smith was caught by a superb diving catch from Ervine off Price. The score 101/1. Price struck again in his next over as he baffled Kallis sent him back to the pavilion with and 'LBW' tag by his name. The score 111/2. The third blow came to Gibbs as he found himself short of the crease and was declared run out at the score of 84. The score 145/3. And then Dippenaar too found himself in the same situation as Gibbs and was also given run out. The score 157/4. After 26 overs the score was 158 with Rudolph at 11 and Boucher yet to face a bowl.

After 47 overs, 1st Innings

South Africa have finished their Innings after posting 252 runs for the loss of all their wickets. Price had a superb spell of bowling as he ended his allotted overs, grabbing 4 wickets in the process. Ervine continued his good performance of the series by taking 2 more wickets.

The match:

After 26 overs the score was 158 with Rudolph at 11 and Boucher yet to face a bowl. Boucher didn?t stand long as he was Run Out when he was at 5. Pollock teamed with Rudolph to make a good partnership worth 25 runs. However Pollock could not withstand Price?s spin bowling and mistimed a shot to be bowled when he was at 11. Hall went away in the next ball itself to an LBW from Price. Price was on a Hat-trick. But he couldn?t take a wicket in the next ball. Peterson teamed with Rudolph to a solid partnership worth almost 35 runs till He went away after hitting the ball straight at Blignaut when he was at 8. Nel and Rudolph teamed together to make the final attempt at a few runs. Rudolph marched back to the pavilion after being caught by Friend when he was 2 runs short of a half century. Ntini and Nel didn?t make much runs as the final pair went away, leaving a score of 252 for the Zimbabweans to chase.

The South African Cricket Board have given the right to telecast the Zimbabwe's Tour of South Africa to Channel Nine. The decision was given after the disappointing coverage from Sky Sports.
 
After 45 overs, 2nd Innings

Zimbabwe are all out at 196, and South Africa have won by 56 runs. Zimbabwe requiring 253 runs in 50 overs lost all their wickets at a score of 196. Carlisle and Gripper were the only ones who managed to hold on against the batsmen. Peterson should a brilliant performance, taking 4 wickets in his allotted 10 overs. The Zimbabweans requiring a run rate of 5 played very slowly and the required run rate was 10 when the last 10 overs came. Despite hitting smashing boundaries which included 7 Sixes and 14 Fours, the Zimbabweans could not keep up with the required run rate.

The match:

Zimbabwe put up a solid but slow start. The openers remained unbeaten till Carlisle was LBW to Hall when he was at 51. The score 75/1. The second partnership wasn?t as long as the first, as it stood for only 27 runs, when Friend found himself short of the crease when he was at 14. The score102/2. Gripper was bowled soon after when he was at 28. The score 102/3. Flower and Taibu put up another important partnership worth 22 runs, till Taibu was caught by Nel off Peterson. The score 124/4. Renny didn?t stand long as he left the pavilion with only a six to his name. The score 130/5. Streak and Flower put up 10 runs till Flower finally lost his wicket when he was at 19. The score 140/6. The next few partnerships were not worth much as Streak (13), Blignaut (6), and Price (11) went off rather quickly to the pavilion at scores of 153/7, 159/8, 170/9. The last wicket partners put up a final 26 runs and then the two retreated back to the pavilion after Hondo was dismissed by Kallis. The score 196 with Ervine remaining not out at 6.

Welcome to Johannesburg for the last One Day International match between Zimbabwe and South Africa. The weather is very mild and pleasant and the fielders ought to enjoy the green grass .The sky is clear and is nearing sunset. It is a cool day and the pitch looks hard and flat.

Outfield: Normal
Playability: The pitch is excellent for batting; it is Hard and Flat with not much in it for the bowlers. The ball should reach the bat quite comfortably and the batsmen will not find any difficulty to play on it. The bowlers haven?t got much chance and can prove to be a nightmare for them.

Zimbabwe luckily have won the toss and selected to bat first. The decision seems quite a good one as the pitch is best for batting.

After 50 overs, 1st Innings

Zimbabwe have put up a healthy score of 245 runs with the loss of 9 wickets for the South Africans to chase. Friend put up an impressive 50 and Flower a helping 39. Kallis grabbed 4 wickets for the team and Pollock 2.

The match:

Zimbabwe began with a good partnership worth 38 runs to begin with. However all that's well does not last long as Vermuelen went off at 27 runs. The score 38/1. The next partnership was equally good and worth 37 runs. But then Carlisle left the field at 24 runs. The score 75/2. The Next partnership seemed to be a mojor blow for South Africa as Flower teamed with Friend to make 67 runs which included Friend's 50. Friend left soon after his 50 leaving a score of 142/3. The next partnership didnt last long as Flower soon retreated back to the pavilion when he made 39 runs. The score 173/4. Then next partnerships were not long, ending with totals of 191/5, 195/6, 203/7, 215/8, 233/9 and the retreaters were Rennie (14), Taibu (21), Ervine (4), Streak (16) and Blignaut (10). Towards the end of the 50th over, Price and Hondo remained not out at 12 each.

After 50 overs, 2nd Innings

South Africa have lost after they were unsuccesful to chase the target of 246. Despite having seven wickets left in their attack, They made no effort to increase their run rate and eventually fell behind and found themselves short of balls to make runs. Gibbs put up an impressive 90 and Kallis a brilliant 50. Friend took two wickets while Streak took one.

The match:

South Africa began with a solid partnership just to start with. Smith and Gibbs together made 84 runs, which included Smiths and Gibbs 42. They had a slow start as they put up the partnership in 20 overs. Smith was caught by Carlisle off Streak. The second partnership lasted till the 40th over. Gibbs and Kallis put up 89 for the team. But around the 40th over, Kallis was caught by Blignaut off Friend when he made his 50. The third partnership was not considerably longer, as 16 runs were only made.Around the 45th Over Gibbs was bowled by Friend when he had neared his century.
Rudolph and Dippenaar could not help the team as the run rate had gone well above their reach. The match ended with Rudolph at 28 and Dippenaar at 12 and the Zimbabweans emerging victorious.

Welcome to Karachi for the first Test Match between Zimbabwe and Pakistan. It is quite hot and Humid here and it seems that after a few moments on the pitch the players would hope for the break to come soon.

Playability: The pitch has quite an amount of Cracks in it. It should favor the spinners. As the match progresses, the cracks might increase and become less batsmen friendly.

Day 2, End of 1st Innings

Pakistan have ended their first Inning?s by declaring at a high total of 455 for the loss of six wickets in 196 Overs. Yohana (101), Afridi (88), Abdul Razzaq (87) and Inzamam Ul-Haq (85) were the major contributors. Streak (3-115), Price (2-97) could not help the Zimbabweans.

The match in sequence:

Pakistan felt an early blow with wickets falling down at 19 and 40 in the first 20 Overs. Mohd. Hafeez and Taufeeq Umar were the ones to go. New comer Inzamam and Shahid Afridi who had been in the crease since 19/1 put up a relief partnership worth 165. The next wicket went away soon as well after 6 runs. Another superb partnership was put up by the new to crease, Youhana and Abdul Razzaq. They made 189 runs together, which included the half-century of both the batsmen. No other partnership was worth as Pakistan declared towards the end of the day with a score of 455. Towards the end of the innings, Asim Kamal remained not out at 19 and Saqlain Mustaq at 26.

Day 4, End of 2nd Innings

It is day 4 and Zimbabwe seem to be trying to draw the match, rather than win it. Zimbabwe have made 364 in 119 Overs and are lagging behind by 91 runs. Vermuelen (54), Blignaut (49*), Flower (47) and Friend (44) were the contributors while Abdul Razzaq (3-60) and Saqlain Mustaq (2-65) were the good bowlers.

The match in every 20 Overs:

After 20 Overs: Zimbabwe made 49 runs without any loss in wickets.

After 40 Overs: Zimbabwe had lost 2 wickets while they made 91 runs. Carlisle (16) and Vermuelen (54) were the one?s to go. Afridi and Shoaib Akhtar had a wicket each.

After 60 Overs: Zimbabwe lost 2 more wickets with the score at 170. Friend (44) and Flower (47) were the wickets. Abdul Razzaq got both the wickets.

After 80 Overs: Zimbabwe are 238/5. They lost Rennie (16) who was bowled by Afridi. It marked Afridi?s second wicket.

After 100 Overs: Score 302/7. Taibu (37) and Streak (37) went back to the pavilion. Abdul Razzaq and Saqlain Mustaq got the wickets. Abdul Razzaq had his third wicket here.

After 119 Overs: Zimbabwe were all out at 364. Lost Ervine (19), Price (4) and Hondo (12) in the last 19 Overs. Marked Mohammed Sami?s 2 wickets and Saqlain Mustaq?s second. Blignaut remained not out at 49.

Day 5, End of 3rd Innings

It is the final day of the Test match. And Pakistan have declared at 277/4 to set a target of 369 runs for Zimbabwe. Taufeeq Umar made up for his sloppy first Innings by putting up 97 runs and Inzamam Ul-Haq continued his form for his team by scoring 76 runs.

The match in every 20 Overs:

After 20 Overs: Pakistan lost one wicket for 56 runs. Mohammed Hafeez was the one to go.

After 40 Overs: Pakistan made 116 without losing any more wickets.

After 60 Overs: Pakistan made 190 and lost another wicket. This time it was Shahid Afridi.

After 80 Overs: Pakistan were 242/3. Lost Taufeeq Umar at 97. It marked Hondo?s second wicket.

After 93 Overs: Pakistan declared at 277/4. They declared after Inzamam Ul-Haq was out at 76. Yohana was left unbeaten at 20 and Abdul Razzaq didn?t face a ball.
