I know I'm jumping the gun massively but if he is going down that route he's pretty likely to get asylum over here if he feels its unsafe to return home.
Who knows. Maybe he got a direct threat indicating they were going to get him immediately.
I don't think he is looking for asylum, just yet.
And again, I reask the question - was anyone going to get him from 6 AM (when he left) to say 8:30ish AM while he is in a hotel which has CCTV cameras and a decent form of security? Because once he gets past that point, he's with the team, where he should be safe.
In a sense of panic, the brain does not work properly, which may be what happened here.
However, I think this was a collective decision in which he made a plan. Possibly, it is someone in the team or management who had told him to lose the game, and he didn't. Therefore, he's avoiding playing / being around that person. Because it certainly seems like he did not want to play in this game, or be near the team itself.
Hopefully we get some answers soon, before the test series starts

Just to add my personal opinion on this - I think Zulqarnain has acted like a child, because he could have EASILY said something to Shahid Afridi or Waqar Younis (who knows, he may have because they seemed rather calm about the situation)
Another thing that should be noted is that during the English summer after Zulqarnain's match winning innings, Zulqarnain was sent home to Pakistan on the pretext of an 'injury', which Zulqarnain later stated that upon returning from the doctor, Yawar Saeed had already booked his ticket home from England.
Also, to justify my point of him being a kid, just take a look at his Facebook page.
