David Gower: Hello, we are live at Lords to witness England Vs The Stars XI. We will now join our commentry with David Lloyd and Michael Atherton...
Michael Atherton: Thanks, David. If you have just joined us England have won the toss and have elected to bat first. The team in full is M.Prior, D.Maddy, P.Collingwood, V.Solanki, A.Flintoff, O.Shah, I.Bell, S.Broad, J.Kirtley, J.Anderson and last but not least M.Panesar.
David Lloyd: Yes it is a cloudy day, well overcast really, here in North London. The pitch is fairly normal and it should be a decent batting wicket. We should expect some big hitting.
Michael Atherton: So......The opening batsmen are now coming out to the crease with Matt Prior and Darren Maddy and Darren Gough will be bowling the first over of the day............
England Scorecard
M.Prior - Bowled by Gough (6)
D.Maddy - Bowled by Caddick(5)
P.Collingwood - Bowled by Gough(4)
V.Solanki - Not Out (13)
A.Flintoff - Not Out(28)
Brilliant work mate, nice to see Flintoff back in an England shirt plus also nice to see Anderson bat the way he did yesterday to you a decent total. I do have to say though the Stars XI should probably get that total unless England bowl very well.
Ian Botham: Welcome to Innings Round Up where I will be talking you through the main "key points" in the England Innings. We didn't know what to expect really due to the fact that this was the first ever Ten/10 innings. It was a cracker of an innings with England going well at 12 runs per over and posting a good total of 125. Of course, there is always a batsman and a bowler who steal the show and today they were Freddie Flintoff and Dominic Cork! Flintoff played a great innings today hitting 35 runs off 15 balls, which included 5 sixes and 1 four! He will be a real condender for man-of-the-match! And of course Dominic Cork, for the Stars XI. Who took 4 wickets in 1 over to get rid of key middle order batsman such as Vikram Solanki and Ian Bell for a golden duck. I would just like to focus on Dominic Cork for a moment of two.....
As you can see here two of his wickets were pitched in the same area of the pitch and the ball swang in past the right handed batsman and onto either middle or leg stump. I wouldn't call the over consistant though because he conceeded too many runs of the over (12).
Lets take a look why.....
In the 1995 picture you can see the right foot is more steady and upright, giving him extra bounce and consistancy. 12 years along the line taken for last seasons LV Championship match, you can see that he is more "sloped" and it is harder for him to get the correct accuracy.
Great graphics mate, but I feel you are kind of telling the story through pictures and using big text to cover it up. Graphics are a nice extra but as every story writer who has been here for a long time will tell you, the text is key to the story. Hope you take this advice on board and all the best for the next update
