Match Preview
England are the certain favourites for their match against Kenya as they are so far unbeaten in the tournament. England have won both their games in dominant fashion as they first beat New Zealand by 5 wickets and then beat Canada by 206 runs to guarantee their journey to the Super 8 and looking unstoppable.
Kenya started poorly to the tournament when they lost to Canada by 6 wickets but now they are in the driver seat for the Super 8 as they beat New Zealand in their second game by 2 wickets, meaning New Zealand are now out of the tournament.
Canada still have a chance of going through into the next round providing Kenya get smacked with the same kind of result England beat them by, after New Zealand won the consolation game.
This now gives an added twist, with England now certainly having to win the game because if they lose to Kenya, then they don?t get the bonus points into the next round and their hard work in the first 2 games will mean nothing.

Team News
England are set to continue with the same team for the third successive game after the two dominant games they have won so far. Once again they will hope that the top 4 will get some good scores underneath their belts as so far they have failed to do so with only Vaughan getting into the thirty?s once.
Kenya are expected to play their strongest squad after now realising that they could possibly progress to the Super 8 and even get some bonus points while they are at it. They would certainly want to bat first and put England?s batting under pressure by chasing.

Coin Toss with Ian Botham

IB: Hit there and welcome to St. Lucia for another glorious day of cricket. Obviously I have the 2 captains with me but first of all, I have to do the pitch report and I have to tell you now, I expect a lot of runs on this pitch. It is nice and hard, there is even bounce and should carry through to the wicketkeeper quite nicely, so the batsmen shouldn?t expect anything unusual. If I won the toss, I would bat first and get the runs on the board. Right then I have the 2 captains with Michael Vaughan tossing the coin and Steve Tikolo calling, away you go!

ST: Tails!

IB: Tails is the call and it is a... Tail, so Steve Tikolo has won the toss, what are you going to do?

ST: we are going to bat first to try and put them under pressure when they are chasing!

IB: Thanks Steve and now to Michael, what did you want to do?

MV: Well I wanted to bat first but it is ok, the bowlers will have to do their job and they will be fine.

IB: Thanks Michael. So there you have it, Kenya have won the toss and elected to bat!

Kenya Innings
Kenya get off to a flyer but lose wickets in the process
Kenya attacked from the start against England and are slightly in front after the first 10 overs. Obuya and Shah gave Kenya an aggressive start before Shah fell to Anderson and Obuya fell to Sidebottom, but Tikolo and Modi continued the attacking as they made England?s bowlers look ordinary. In this period, 45 runs were scored including 9 boundaries but 2 wickets did fall.

Sidebottom opened up the bowling and did extremely well as he bowled consistently and stifled the runs off Kenya which did lead to the downfall of Obuya. His figures of 5-1-15-1 are very good when Kenya were going at 4.5 an over but he only went for 3 an over. At the other end, Anderson opened up and had a terrible first over as he went for 9 runs off it, and then continued to leak a boundary an over, but he was surprised with the wicket of Shah as it was really a poor ball. His figures of 4-0-22-1 are very poor compared to his recent performances. Flintoff replaced Anderson for 1 over and was punished with 2 fours coming off his first three balls, all off Tikolo. His figures of 1-0-8-0 means he has to bowl a tighter line.

Kenya have got off to a good start and at this rate may put up a total of over 250 which would then put serious pressure on England?s batting, but they must not lose any more wickets in the next 20 overs otherwise they may end up like Canada did last week and flop to a poor total. England?s bowlers have been off the ball and are lucky to have two wickets already in the game, but if they carry on bowling the way they are, they will give Kenya a great score which could be out of their reach.

Kenya were looking good but those two wickets will prove crucial. I am guessing that they will get 170.

Great works mate! Great story! :thumbs

Great update there! I still that England will be too strong for the Kenyans and will take bonus points into the Super 8s! Haha, New Zealand are out! However EA games are so unpredictable. On my Cricket 07, I was also playing in the 2007 World Cup as England, and Australia lost to Netherlands!
