There will be no casualties from the Ashes and the only spot up for debate will be the opening position for Hughes or Watson and whether to bowl a spinner, however, I would go with this;

Clarke
North
Ferguson
Haddin
Johnson
Krejza
Siddle
Hilfenhaus

Krejza is far more likely to take wickets than Hauritz regardless if he goes for runs and if we're worried about spinners going for runs then we're already in bad shape.

Is that a joke? Watson has impressed, and how you managed to omit Hauritz is beyond me. I might well not have him in my team, rather opting for 4 pacemen, but if I include a spinner, Hauritz is my first choice.

That's my team. If a spinner is needed, or one of those bowlers are in bad form or injured, then Hauritz replaces. In a bat is out of place, one of the Hussey brothers or Ferguson comes in. If it's an opener, then Watson can go up to opening.

Everyone from 4-11 in that team, apart from Haddin, obviously, can bowl. Plenty of options. Watson will be handy for 5-10 overs a day, I don't want him bowling any more for a while yet. Clarke and North should get through 5 overs each in a day if we play Hauritz, about 7-10 if we don't pick him. After all, the quicks do need a bit of a rest from time to time, and hopefully the batsmen don't capitalize on part time bowling, instead they just slip through some quick, economical overs.

Then what was Johnson doing in the previous Test? He only got 3 more wickets than Watson despite bowling 50 more overs. What Watson was doing in the previous Test was building pressure, his economy justifies that. One Test won't suddenly make your economy the best in the series, so clearly he was bowling tightly before then which is more than you could ask for from your 5th bowler.
