Recently India haven't been doing very well,

- Knocked out of the WT20 Super8s in the last 2 years.

And they have just lost to Zimbabwe in an ODI, which is slightly embarassing.

However, are these results just freak results, or India actually not what they used to be.

NOTE: (Any Comments such as 'India are the best, we've got xyz players etc. and constant shouting about how good you think you are, will be deleted, take it seriously)

Their Test side is better than it used to be but they are failing in the limited overs. Weird flip flop, although even now I would not rate their Test bowling attack in the top 4.

Most of India's failiures have only been in T20's. We are still doing fine in ODI's and test matches. The current tri-series is perfect preperation for the Asia cup and beyond. Seniors are getting some rest and we are testing out our bench strenth.

I would have agreed this completely if any player in their current squad have played more than 100 ODI matches. Let's how the real side performs outside SC and then make comments.

They're still going to be a very competitive side in Test cricket with Tendulkar, Dravid, Laxman, Sehwag, Zaheer and Harbhajan in the team, but once those guys retire, and they could retire in a heap then I see them really struggling. The bowling just isn't up to it, especially the seam bowling, and the young batsmen that are coming through all appear to struggle against short pitch bowling. They should be all good for another 3-4 years, but after that I see India possibly having a West Indies-esque decline.

I do not agree, I never thought India as a good T20 side.
losing to Zimbabwe isn't a shame with second string side, infact Australia lost to them with their full side and so as pakistan.
They are still better, still they have a chance in tri-nations cup.

You can be right there, but you shouldn't be.

:facepalm

1) They have never had any success in mega/big/major ICC tournaments since 2003. ( World Cups and Champion Trophies ). :sarcasm

2) Can't rate a team based on T20 because it's anyones' game. Aussies have tasted their first success in this years' T20 & that doesn't mean Aussies are bad. So T20 - hit out or get out should be eliminated for rating the teams.

I would say, there was ZERO workaround done to remove/eliminate the weakness that Indian cricket had. But, in their business processing - converting cricket to money, none can beat BCCI.

India's win in the first T20 was more due to the fact that most teams didnt know how to handle the T20 format. It was unknown at that time, and India got lucky and were also benefitted due to the good form and fitness of most of their big players. We are never a good T20 side, and I will accept it.

We are good in ODI's. Again the result of today's game in Zimbabwe cant be used against us because this is a second string side with a new captain. In the team picked for today, only Raina enjoys a permanent place in the side and thats why he is captain. For the bowlers, its a learning experience. Atleast we can see what they have in store. This is preparation for Asia Cup and more importantly part of the building for the World Cup next year.

Indians expect too much from their team, they are a good team, but not a great team.

Their test record is ok, but mostly due to good home results.

Nothing much has changed in the past 20 years, they still play well at home, they still lose away.

I don't see how anyone can be surprised at this.

It seems someone has failed to get up/wake up from the sleep  a) CB series b) India tour of NZ c) ODI series win in WI.

sick, probably you are still watching the 1990's cricket.:facepalm

Not India team fault that haven't played away. Still even if they have played weak side they haven't also lost (or maybe they haven't played) to strong side in ODI iirc.
