Hmmm. Good enough player, but is he consistent enough to be a solid Man Utd player? I have my doubts.

Sounds as though Ashley Young might be Old Trafford bound - looks like either us or Liverpool and according to the papers, Utd are favourites. Need to get this goalkeeper situation sorted sooner rather than later though.

Not confident in SAF turning Nasri into a much better play than he already is? :lol

And how many wingers/wide players do you really need anyway?

Looks like Alexis Sanchez may well be heading to Barcelona soon and they might still be going for Rossi and/or Fabregas as well!

UEFA should probably just hand them the Champions League and produce the runners-up trophy! :p

Nasri made his name in France with Marsielle playing as the attacking mid-field in "hole" behind the the lone striker as im sure you know. Its just that with Fabregas having that role @ Arsenal, Wenger tended to play Nasri more in a left-wing role.

I think if he wants to go to United, it would be a good deal for them. Since i dont see United getting Modric or Sneijder at all.

Yeah, that is why he lost his form in the second half of last season. He is definitely much more effective playing in the middle.

It appears that Phil Jones of Blackburn is on the verge of joining Man United for ?16m. Good prospect but again, the fee is a little bit high.

Ah - so Nasri was being played out of position - that explains a lot. In that case, I'm sure Sir Alex would get the best out of him. Phil Jones would be a good addition as well, but as you said it's a bit of a high fee. Keeper situation is still up in the air.

I think Ashley Young would do well at Old Trafford if he comes - he can play wing or as striker. Still no sign of some much needed midfield steel though.

20mil is a bit much for Henderson but at least Liverpool is prepared for the homegrown players rule with Spearing, Robinson, Flanagan, Carragher, Gerrard, Carroll, Henderson, Johnson, Kelly, Shelvey. Also plenty of promising English players in the reserves such as Sterling and Coady. English players' fees are always a little higher than they should be but that's they way it is now. Nobody is saying that they are worth that much in a normal market but teams are able and willing to pay those exorbitant amounts.

As i always say going back to when United signed Carrick, we just have to accept with the money in the premiership, that players will be bought & sold for exorbitant amounts compared to other EURO leagues. Thus we shouldn't stress ourselves with the traditional idea of player being bought for what they are worth in England anymore.

Jones signing for Utd can only help England - Jones and Smalling play well together at U21 level, so they may well be a future England CB partnership. It's always good to have both England CBs playing at the same club - remember when England's CB paring was Adams and Keown or Adams and Campbell? The defence looked quite solid and some of that was down to their understanding at club level.
