With Hargreaves gone, wouldn't surprise me if Jones will be utilised in a holding-role on occasions next season.

Jones signing for Utd can only help England - Jones and Smalling play well together at U21 level, so they may well be a future England CB partnership. It's always good to have both England CBs playing at the same club - remember when England's CB paring was Adams and Keown or Adams and Campbell? The defence looked quite solid and some of that was down to their understanding at club level.

Very true.

Liverpool move for Zapata | Sky Sports | Football | Premier League | News

Who knows about this guy?

Don't really know him as a player, but here are his stats last season

Zapata: Played 35 games, 2 goals from 4 shots, won 62 of 73 tackles (84.9%), completed 952 of 1128 passes (84.4) made 29 fouls (6YC 0R)

I thought he was excellent this season, stark contrast to the season before.

One of the main reasons Udinese qualified for the CL.

Second that.

Valencia have signed Dani Parejo for 6 million, but we have a 2-year buy back clause.

Good signing. We need a player to replace Giggsy who won't go on much longer and Young has really impressed me for England recently. Wonder what shirt he'll get? Someone important needs to be given the No.7, that's for sure - you can't have such an iconic number languishing on the bench forever.

Well he can play striker as well - and there are rumblings that Park might leave soon and Obertan's been put up for sale. Giggs won't last for much longer - which just leaves Nani really. I can see Nani/Young being the main winger partnership this season.

I always like it when we sign England internationals - the more playing in the same team, the better for England. :)

Play him as a striker and break up the Rooney-Hernandez partnership? Nani-Young would can be the main wingers for United but where does that leave Valencia, who has been excellent so far in his career at Old Trafford?

There are some rumours going around that Berbatov might be leaving too.

Valencia. D'oh, I knew there was someone I forgot!

No, I don't mean play Young as a first line striker, I mean he has the ability to play there if needed.

Can't say I'm ecstatic over Young's signing. Further strengthens one of the strongest areas of our squad.

He would've been a better fit for 'Pool.

Even then, one from Nani, Young and Valencia is gonna be sitting on the bench. SAF may rotate but that is not really ideal especially when all three of them are first team players, that is unless SAF decides to let go Nani or Valencia.

I was about to say, how could you forget Valencia! Thing is, it seems Fergie may have gone off Nani a bit as he was on the bench for some of the back end of last season.

However, I really don't see him selling Park, would be interested to see where that news came from. Giggsy probably has another year in him (maybe around 20 appearances) and then he'll be given a coaching role in my opinion. But Fergie loves to play Park in the big games, so I think he is unlikely to sell him. Also, isn't Giggs predominantly used in the middle these days?
