Football Transfers Thread

Every player these days just want to go to Real Madrid, Barcelona or worst(!), Manchester City! :facepalm

Apparently, Barcelona cannot afford colour toner for their photo copiers. I wonder if that'll stop them free-spending this summer... I doubt it. ;)

Apparently, Clichy's move was down to 'the talent of the squad'. So nothing to do with the huge wad of cash he's going to get then. ;)

Either way, good luck to him at City. Can't see him being a regular starter unless Mancini decides to play with 10 defenders in every game!

At least he's not English - City have ruined enough England eligible players by parking them permanently on the bench.

Can I just point out that in 2009, Clichy said the following;

"I really believe that if you are a player who thinks only about money, then you'll end up at Man City"

As an Arsenal fan it's a bitter pill to swallow, we've seen our last couple of decent full-backs move to teams offering bigger wages, but whilst Wenger insists with his policies of nurturing young talent, we're not going to attract the big names or be able to keep our best players (Fabregas and Nasri)

This week could be a very tough one for Arsenal fans in terms of having to see our best players leave the club, maybe it will finally convince Wenger to bring in some experienced players.

Well there you go then. ;)

As far as Utd are concerned, I'd just like to see a decent creative midfielder come in and that will be fine for the coming season. Funny, usually you have to wait ages for Utd to sign people, not this summer!

Christ, 45m rc + 5m salary for Neymar. Madrid are turning up the heat, let's see if he stands still like his hair. And we were the only ones pitying Barca's 45m season funds. Madrid are going all out for that one guy with all that price. 2 decades ago, such transfer bids would be forsaken on humanitarian reasons.

Anyways Coentrao to Madrid!! Yeah baby!!

I think they're done with the imports. They're turning their heads to premier league talent now which is good. At best the 2 signing which of Nasri and Sturridge. Don't think Nasri bid would bring success but they should sign Sturridge.

Please, don't offload Berbatov. Please.

Berbatov's going as far as I'm concerned, Ferguson made that clear by playing Hernandez with Rooney in the big games last season, and it's like any decent footballer these days, they'll want to go somewhere where they are guaranteed first-team football, if Berbatov goes to somebody like Bolton/Blackburn, ok it's a step-down in terms of the quality of the team, but he's going to be the best player there, which I think he'll enjoy more than sitting on the bench watching a half-decent Mexican play instead of him.

Half-decent? WHAAAAT? This kid is special and you know it.

Hernandez half-decent? That's as far from the truth as you can get - this kid will be as good as or better than Solskjaer and that's saying something.

Hernandez is a gem. Berba's unfortunate but these things happen.

There's certainly no way we'd have won the title without Berba's goals but on the other hand, Hernandez was pivotal in the latter stages of the CL.

Football's a squad game.
