Tbh, I would be selling Park (never liked him) and Giggs should retire soon. I think having Valencia, Young and Nani is good but I still think it was better going for a better central midfielder.

Good signing I will say, along with Toulalan. Always been a fan of Joaquin and think he deserves a spot in the Spanish XI, although I did follow Valencia, but now that they've lost Silva, Villa and Joaquin, not much reason to.

Valencia are having problems financially after all. So, maybe it's somewhat understandable for them to sell Joaquin when a good offer comes in. As long as they can keep their key players at the club, they can definitely finish among the Top 4 in La Liga again.

They finished 3rd with Villa and Silva. They finished 3rd without them this year. Joaquin was a fantastic player but he is past his prime. Also he was the highest earner at Valencia, so selling him does benefit the club a lot. Valencia need to hold on to the likes of Mata, Soldado, Banega and Mathieu. This summer they also signed Dani Parejo (we have a two year buy back clause).

I very much doubt if Utd are done yet - it's obvious that Sir Alex was stung by the CL defeat. Before we're done, I expect a new keeper (probably De Gea) and a decent central midfielder - preferably a stopper - then again, maybe Jones can do that job. The defence has solid strength in depth now and we have good striking options, so yeah, the only department I'd really like to see strengthened is central midfield.

God, I hate Malaga to the core! Next Man City in the making? Joaquin's one of my favorite Spanish footballers given he played for my favorite two Spanish clubs prior to this agreement. Good luck regarding his future and also to their 'revolution'. :rolleyes
Oh, don't be so melodramatic. Their transfer model is very different from City and anyway, given the discrepancy in the TV deals between the top two and the rest, it's nice to be able to see another club be able to level the playing field a bit.

As long as they spend wisely, which Pellegrini should be able to do, they'll avoid falling in the Super Depor trap and provide an interesting subplot to the top two.

And finally he's a Red Devil.

Meanwhile, how good's this guy Ryad Boudebouz? Never heard of him before.

While impressive Braga fullback, Silvio moves to Atletico. Was fantastic to watch in the Europa League last season, though he didn't have the best of finals.

So United must have spent around 50 million so far and still dont have that key central midfielder to fit the bill. Maybe he has a plan to just play Carrick and Fletcher all season :p.

It'll work in the Premier League where you don't play top quality European teams like Chelsea and Barcelona week in week out but I'm not so sure it will work in the Champions League. I was under the impression that the Pastore deal was near done and dusted a few months ago. I guess not. He would have been a great addition. I think Rooney could very successfully operate as that attacking midfielder. The season before this one he worked on his heading to become an even more lethal forward and this past season he's improved his passing game which would no doubt be of use in that attacking midfielder's role.

Wait - are you actually mentioning Chelsea and Barcelona in the same breath? Didn't you see us comprehensively outclass Chelsea both home and away? :p

Good - goalkeeping headache sorted out nice and early. :)

So, Utd sign Ashley Young and David de Gea - two great signings. Ashley Young in particular might have a useful bonus: now, both Park and Nani are making noises to the effect that they're going to really fight for their places. Intense competition across the whole midfield and in defence can only be a good thing for the club - and it's happening on the goalkeeper front as well. A very interesting start to this transfer window. :)

As well as that, Macheda is back to fight for a place and Cleverly is raring to go in the first team as well. :)
