Australia in India 2013/14-Limited Overs

Regardless of the pitch being supportive in chasing such high scores, way which Indian batsmen did was beauty! Domination from top order finally has given rest to Yuvi/Dhoni to take too much in the end. ;)

I tweaking can't believe Indian batsmen actually managed to achieve the target that too with 6 and half overs to spare. O Superb batting, really!! Dhawan was lucky earlier on to get away with what looked like a difficult catch. But the way he play afterwards, he deserved a century. Maybe if he would have score a century, it would have been first time in history that top 3 batsmen scored century??
Fantastic batting from the former 'Maggiman' Rohit too. Never expected him to bat so well. He was playing so well out there and I tell you I have never seen him play like that for India. Kohli's innings was the most spectacular thing to happen this match. Came in and went on bang bang ending up scoring a century of just 52 tweaking BALLS, FASTEST CENTURY BY AN INDIAN EVER!!!!! :clap I guess he beat Sehwag's 54 ball century if I am remember.

Dhawan,Rohit & Kohli killed aussies,Oh god what a clean hitting :clap Awesome absolutely awesome.Mean while i am very happy for rohit:)

Ausssieesss, the supreme mighty Aussiesss, how did you get owned so much today? Seriously, how bad was that pitch, worse than Jo`burg 2006 or was it worse bowling? Jaipur had pace and bounce during the Champions League, I was`nt expecting something of this sort.

My goodness, i saw S Africa chase down 438 vs AUS in 2006 & when AUS chased down 325 vs S Africa at P.Elizabeth 2002. Every ball.

But this has to be the most dominant ODI chase of a big target in history. You swear IND were chasing 250.

I don't normal give T20 cricket much credit for anything - but it has certainly enhanced the hitting ability of batsmen.

Credit to Bailey. Hard on him. Don't think any captain could've changed the course of the match today. Scored a blistering 92 in the 358 runs, surely he'd have thought 2-0 was secured; before the chase flipped his brains of course. His post match interview said a bit about how he felt today.

George Bailey said:
You think the pitch is a beauty? [chuckles].

fixed. :p

yea that game was a high on its own. But the result today is a lot more than it shows. India chased down 358/1 with 7 odd overs to spare. So guess it's not an understatement to say they could have toppled the highest ODI score with the 9 wickets they had.

Curious point by dhoni about the ball change rule (@33 overs). Don't think it would've mattered. They were run-a-ball around that time if Kohli and rohit decided against playing shots.

Maybe Gambhir and Sehwag's once Irreplaceable opening pair might have seen its end. I hope I turn out wrong.

Well done India, great run chase. Can't say I'm really surprised though they have done this on many occasions now, I remember they chased down 300 in around 30 overs a couple of years ago in Hobart. Its a shame that the horrible bowling effort will likely be forgotten though, I would drop Ishant, Vinay Kumar and Ashwin for Aaron, Yadav and Mishra. Have a feeling because they won though that they won't make any changes which will be disappointing.

Was not expecting to wake up to that, the Aussies just keep on doing this to me. In Kohli we probably are watching the greatest ever ODI batsmen, I've never seen a guy that is so consistent and also has the ability to smoke an opposition.

Surprising enough before the series I would have thought our batting would lose it but the bowling ended up being the weak link.

What a match another kohli blast !
India needed 321 to win in 40 overs- Kohli 133 of 86
India needed 330 to win against Pakistan kohli 183
India needed 360 to win against Oz kohli 100* of just 52 record breaking
This guy is the one to break all the records:)

Kohli is an absolute animal. there's no other batsman in the world that looks quite so unworldy when playing one day cricket. he is wracking up 100s at a rate I wouldn't have believed possible.

Australia in India 2013-14 : Ishant Sharma, India's blunt spearhead | Cricket Features | India v Australia | ESPN Cricinfo

I didn't realise just how bad Ishant has been until reading this article, he simply has to go now and if I'm to be frank he probably shouldn't play for India again. India doesn't have much pace bowling depth at all but surely you are better off playing someone else and see how they go.

What frustrates me more about Ishant is that this is his 6th year in International cricket and he still hasn't learned much. I mean what has happened to that Ishant Sharma who we saw in Australia tour in 2007/08? He looked full of potential and we thought finally India have a genuine fast bowler who can actually bowl quick but also is good with his line and length. His bowling changed so quickly though which I always failed to understand. He worked with Waqar Younis last IPL and was in company of Steyn throughout last 3 or 4 season of IPL. I don't even know if he is learning anything from them or not.

Yeah, I mean its like what more can you do with him now? I think you really just need to forget him and move on. India has a nice crop of promising youngsters in Bhuvi, Yadav and Aaron just need to get them all on the field at the same time and get some more games under their belt. Can't wait to see what Bhuvi can do on some more helpful decks in SA and England, been really impressed by what I have seen from him so far in his career.

I'm just gonna state the obvious, Kohli is damn impressive in ODIs and the pitches in India are far too flat. Also the bowling on display hasn't been that good. But take nothing away from the teams that have scored mammoth scores, their batting has been spot on, teams like NZ and Pakistan who often struggle getting bigger scores should take note. Add the Windies to that list.
