meh, i once played in goal for a sunday league team and averaged 20 saves a game easily. we'd lose about 10 nil every week, mind.

yep it has an effect, (wouldn't be in the game if it didn't) just more that i don't think it's a big one and will very rarely be the reason you get out. If you choose the wrong footwork, but choose the right direction and time it well it will be fine. maybe just 2/3 instead of four. choose...

I don't think it will ever be possible to chose which foot to use to face fast bowling for most people and will be very difficult to master for 70-80mph bowling. Medium pacers and spinners offer enough time. the front/back shot choice doesn't seem hugely important.

Ibrahimovic won 10 league titles in 11 seasons (including the 2 juventus were stripped of) with 6 different clubs in four different countries. with the exception of one year at barcelona he has been in the main man in every one of those sides. he's crap though.

this is a good point. I don't think players, when going to big clubs for big fees, do it for the pay cheque that often. It will happen, of course. But most of them likely back themselves to thrive at the new club and win trophies and play a part.

Has anyone done much experimentation with attacking ground shots? I've not, yet. But now i get into the 30s/40s pretty close to every innings, but then they set the field back and there are few to zero boundary options. Basically only third man and point, but you need pretty specific deliveries...
