while i don't think he is dogshit, i don't think this match is likely to change the opinion of @thedon5 . it's brazil who have been dogshit

oscar has been dogshit though. this entire world cup. he never looks bothered

I feel like I've accidentally clicked on a dodgy link on a porno site and stumbled onto a German Snuff film.

Ye ha, just messing thedon5. But damn many obviously expected Germany's win - but certainly not this trashing.

Watching the BBC halftime show, big stat that this is first time Brazil have conceded 5 in a World Cup game since the 6-5 win v Poland in 1938.

Think it's pretty apt that this game's being discussed on a cricket forum...

What a match that was

Looking at the faces of the Brazil players at the end I don't think that they'll ever get over this defeat.

David Luiz :facepalm

funneh.

what the hell was bringing a neymar shirt on for the national anthem about, never seen such cloying sentiment.

noticed none of the germans wanted to swap shirts, because who'd want to touch a brazilian shirt after that?

Today he showed his usual self. Great set pieces and shooting, so goddamn average everywhere else. Annoys me that it's because of him that Ozil is shunted out wide.

But yes, this is all because of Brazil. Luiz and Dante is an embarrassing CB pairing. It made no sense to me that people were heralding Neymar as such a massive loss when clearly Thiago Silva was the much, much bigger loss. It's not just a loss on personnel level, but you need a leader for your defence and the team as a whole in a World Cup semi-final and Luiz isn't that. Never mind that a donkey like Dante replaced the best defender in the world.

Thiago Silva's value as a defender just went up after this. Expected Germany to expose his absence, but without him all the defensive flaws of Luiz, Marcelo, Maicon (Alves lucky he didn't play) that we all see every week in club football was well on display.

Exactly and that's the same point I always make about Kroos - average footballers are going to look good next to great ones. Like I said though, it was more than just a loss on a personnel level.

Not sure why Alves didn't start, he's still better than Maicon for me.

Klose broke Ronaldo's record for more total world cup goals ever, and Germany passed Brazil in total world cup goals scored ever... in a 7-1 defeat of Brazil in Brazil!

Whaaaaaaaaat

ironically it was england winning 5-1 in germany that played a part in the process of the german re-evaluation.
