haha after the game they showed a clip of ballack in the studio celebrating after the final whistle. they asked him if he had practiced his celebration. he said, "of course, seven times in the semifinal"

Well deserved for Germany. They played well throughout. Palacio missed a howler though. And it does make no sense that Messi got the golden ball - he wasn't even the best South American.

yeah, the thing about the match up was that Germany were better in pretty much every area except in attack. Argentina's plan was to set their stall up defensively and rely on having one of the best offensive line ups in the tournament to nab something. you have to say, scoring 2 goals over 7 and a half hours of football in the knock outs pointed to an overly cautious system that failed to really threaten teams enough.

for them, playing to their strengths would be to take any chances that came their way, and they missed three sitters. to be quite honest, the game went exactly the way they would have wanted it to for them to win, and they still lost. A final appearance flattered them imo.

Not even the best Argentinian - Messi did it in the group stages, Mascherano did it in the knockouts. It was thanks to their defence that they made it so far, though Messi was brilliant against Belgium.

Leaving Tevez out also backfired - with Aguero & di Maria unfit, and other forwards out of form.

What a wonderful world cup. Congratulate the germans we all must. They played like a team. Still think had the man from Madrid Di Maria played Argentina may have just snatched it.
