Anderson and Finn are grafting out a record breaking 9th wicket partnership.

I guess I should have made my post simple to avoid all the confusion. My Aus XI for the third test: 1. Warner 2. Cowan 3. Khawaja 4. Watson 5. Clarke 6. Henriques or 7. Wade 8. Smith 9. Johnson wins fight to death 10. Pattinson 11. Lyon

Brilliant bowling from our brothers across the ditch :clap Lucky for NZ they have some classy players like Wagner, Brownlie and Watling, so hopefully they can capitalise on this first day domination :cheers

I'm one of Cowan's biggest supporters, the first half of my post was other people's suggestions combined ;)

I agree, but that's where we're headed if we drop everyone except for Clarke.

Love that India are discussing their line-up more than the Aussies :p Harbhajan sucks, Ishant sucks, Sehwag sucks. Bring in Ojha, Rahane and play 10. As for the Aussies, compiling the suggestions so far, we should see Cowan dropped, Warner dropped, Hughes dropped, Watson open or dropped, Clarke...

New Zealand in England May - June 2013

You were right the first time :p Aus and NZ did indeed draw 1-1 straight after the Aus/Saf drawn series. We lost the second test by like 3 or 4 runs, our first test defeat against them in some 350 years.

Finally the commentators wake up to why Clarke at 5 is the obvious position. Still too many people crying out for him to bat at 3 or 4, because omg he's the captain. If it ain't broke, don't fix it. Ball of the century right there from Jadeja.

I figured we'd probably lose 3 wickets by stumps once the deck turned into a minefield. Actually thought Cowan and Warner might take us home for awhile there, but next to impossible with the way the pitch is rigged. I guess the curator didn't expect India to bat so slow and once the timer went...

    England and Wales?

Holland's population is around 17 million. Quite amazing how they fit them all in without building towering skyscrapers.

Mostly on purpose :spy It's not hard to see the real reasons why we're not doing so well though. Our team is more skilled than India's, given that we're hovering around 1st-3rd day in day out since like 1880 and India are consistently 4th or 5th. We dominate at home and win more often than not...

I wouldn't have a problem admitting that we were outplayed in the 1st test if it had actually happened. Ignoring the pitch doctoring for a second, had the umpires called the game evenly, both 1st innings would be roughly the same and the game would have been nicely poised for a great victory by...

Definitely hits the deck harder than any Indian in the history of cricket.

Not even Pattinson can get the ball bouncing through to the keeper now. Another hour or two of India going at 1.5 rpo and this deck will be completely dead. Might need to bring in some neutral English curators to give this series some life.

Ah that's not too bad then. Can't remember which park the log ride is at, but did you happen to hit up Movieworld and their superman rollercoaster? The park itself sucks imo, but good memories of that 'coaster. Might not have been running if there was too much rain though. Probably a good thing...

Didn't catch much today, but looks like there was something in it for the quicks. Will reserve judgement on the pitch for a couple more days though. Doherty for Lyon seems a bit of a joke, but then we are known for gambling and the situation probably warrants it. He seems to either take a...

Lol what kind of bizarre system is your local under 16's or whatever using, where it takes a week to play a 2 day game? Church on Sunday or the players are just too soft to back up? I guess your scenarios would work well if you can win every toss and choose accordingly. Sounds like you'd be...

I guess Auckland doesn't set the bar very high :spy Wasn't it just pissing down rain the whole time? Pretty much has been here and I'm about 2 hours south of Brissy atm and Qld's been copping it worse than here.

As SaiSrini and Cricketman have pointed out, this kind of pitch doctoring has been going on in India for decades. Obviously the BCCI and their fanboys have missed the point of what home ground advantage means, in that it's actually something that happens naturally because the touring side is out...

Quite right about a guilty conscience leading to such paranoia. Reminds me a lot of Lance Armstrong. It's not cheating if you convince yourself that everyone else is doing it and you're just leveling the playing field. There's a difference between maintaining a pitch's natural tendencies and...
