Is Jonty Rhodes the fielding coach of Mumbai Indians?
If so, they are not really paying attention then.
Sorry in advance for the rant, but I would love a dollar for every time they showed Jonty. WHO CARES ABOUT FRIKKEN JONTY????
: So he's a fielding coach...big whoop, so he's a former player...big whoop - none of them have ever taken up coaching /massive sarcasm
It's just the commentators have no idea who even plays for Guyana so they have to keep babbling on about the Indians all the time. I was seething by the end of the game at the total one-eyedness. Whenever a Guyana guy hit a 6, the comment went something like "great shot, but not as big as Pollard's" which, while true, was a great way to deflate whatever was happening on the field and turn the conversation back to more Mumbai Indians issues. Another example: when Tendulkar was batting he backed away and slashed, got a nick and was millimetres away from being caught behind - really close to carrying to the keeper...yet Sanjay Manjrekar DIDN'T EVEN MENTION IT!!! He was too busy going on about Tendulkar's 'mindset' or some other crap to even comment that he'd almost just got himself out
Even when Ian Bishop was in the box, the talk rarely went to the Guyana players. It was awful. And it hasn't been just for this game: last game against SA Redbacks, Daniel Harris pulled off a COMPLETELY AWESOME diving catch on a high swirling ball - one of the best I've ever seen. Yes, there was some momentary lauding of it at the time (but not a lot ), and I think they replayed it only once. Yet they showed a Pollard six from 5 different angles...
I can't believe I'm hanging out for Bill Lawry again - and he's a blithering idiot
