11/05 - New gameplay video for IC 2010 Now Out

Because they can wait a few months and now we will pay them 60 bucks for it

I'm sorry but the Ashes game was at ?40 and the new International cricket will be at the same price. They had many months of where they had complaints about how it wasn't for the real cricket fan and they never bought out a patch themselves. They've had 3 attempts already at it with BL2005, BL2007 and Ashes 2009 and it has always been the same problem, the gameplay was for the twenty20 generation rather than the proper cricket generation. If they can't get it right in 3 attempts then they are highly unlikely to get it right in the fourth.

I meant 60 American dollars but same difference.

So what do you suggest as an alternative?

I did understand that you were on about a different currency but I only knew the price of Ashes in pouns, so I thought I'd better stick with what I know.

Alternatives? Well unfortunately for us lot, there isn't any which in a sense can explain why Codemasters don't make too many changes to games as they know that they don't have anyone to compete with. For a proper cricket gamer, I always thought Cricket 2004 was the best as the bowling and batting were more realistic than newer EA games plus the added bonus of dropped catches and injuries did make it a surprising package.

The problem has always been that 'they' only attempted it once each in that time. BLIC 05, 07 and AC09 all have next to no code shared with each other, and were developed by different companies. The fact we finally have them building off their base rather than throwing it all out should mean a better result.

If all IC010 is, is a completed patch for AC09, it is worth it, perhaps not at the immediate price it comes out for, but as with all games, in a few months time it will be dirt cheap. The minor changes fixed the game in most aspects, it isn't perfect and never will be, but they are far closer than they ever have been.

a) Graphics are the same
b) Stadium feels empty
c) The bowling action is better than last time, but still bad. Not everyone has a slingy, Kamran Khan/Lasith Malinga style action.
d) The shots feel good, but they felt good in 09 too.

I don't think that will be the case...they are a well reputed team and should be doing more than just patching the earlier version!

Damn good points

They need to release a GAMEPLAY video. With scorecards, cursurs, the Action ****ing Cam. The game's just a month away and all they've done for the hype is pump 2 mediocre trailers showing motion capture.
