yep thats what ive been doing. most of it is from google and a bit from gettyimages. i was just thinking there may have been another site out there which is good for images

where do you find those pictures from ravi? i have searched everywhere for some photos for my story but you seem to just be able to churn them out haha.

MWaugh, saisrini80 just mentioned how to get it. Go to google and search for let's say Mark Waugh. Then at the top of the page choose image instead of Web. That will display all the photos available for a given player.

Guess it's a bit early for NZ to be out of the tourney yet. Each team gets to play 8 games and then the top four make it to the semis according to the 1992 WC fixtures and rules. I geuss NZ can still win the next 4-6 and can possibly make it to the next stage but so far it has not been a good experience. :noway

So far from the polling at this point of stage there is a clear mandate from the voters. The teams that are likely to go through to the Semis going by the votes are

Australia (9 votes)
Pakistan (9 votes)
India (7 votes)
England (5 votes)

There were only 2 votes casted for Sri Lanka one from me included. Wonder how the table will look after another 4-8 games. India has a crucial ODI coming up against Sri Lanka. If Sri Lanka wins that one then rest assured Sri Lanka will most probably go through to the next stage but this tourney is still open to pretty much all the nations.

In the next game I am going to be playing as Australia. Now the format is going to be changed a little with me choosing to bowl the last 25 overs and bat the last 25 overs. This is make it an interesting contest. Stay tuned for updates today on this tourney.

The new format of my gameplay didn't work out very well for Australia. Australia has scored a ridiculous 72 runs off 25 overs

Fair enough I swapped the user team and changed the bowlers for South Africa to avoid Donald bowling 10 overs off the first 25 overs. I autoplayed 5 overs at a time and after 15 overs Australia were 50/0 which wasn't so bad but having scored 22 runs off the last 10 overs is just ridiculous. Anyways it is now a true test of my batting and bowling. Firstly I am only able to win once a blue moon and this will jeopradise the chances of my winning by quite some margin.

Anyways here are the scores after 25 overs of play. Australia won the toss and choose to bat on this dusy pitch with sun beating down.

I am thinking are there any volunteers to play say 25 overs in a game for me with this patch from the next game on. Let me know and we can have some fun or even if someone wants to represent some country let me know. You can choose to bowl a 25 over block and bat a 25 over block.

Cheers

David Boon helps Australia to a decent score

wbboon_wideweb__430x255.jpg

The second half of the Australian inning was dominated by the burly David Boon who ended up scoring an excellent 108 off 155 balls with 9 hits to the rope. Boon finally departed trying to up the tempo and by the time he got out Australia were in far better postion. With the ball not coming on to the bat that very well stroking the ball was quite hard and only the second part of the Australian inning saw any kind of accelaration. Though the first 25 overs produced only 72 runs the next 25 overs produced 157 runs while Australia lost wickets when they went for runs. Rest of the Australian batters tried to score quickly and sacrificed their wickets for the good of the team.

It seems a tough run chase for South Africa after 25 overs at the rate of 5.80 RPO needed from here on. incidentally South Africa has only scored 13 more runs than their counterpart. Allan Border has used his bowlers in short spells so far apart from the ace bowler McDermott and has tied down the South African openers although wickets haven't come his way.

It is promising to be a close encounter the next 25 overs and the game can tilt either way by the looks of it. Australia will be looking forward to couple of wickets while South Africa would most definitely like to break the shackles here on even at the cost of couple of wickets.

Thats a very decent score by the Aussies.. Would be interesting on how SA chases the total.

SA makes a slow start to the chase

South Africa made a rather slow start to their chase against Australia scoring only 85 runs off the first 25 overs. Australia did not secure any wicket during the first 25 overs but will be pleased with the way their bowlers have bowled and have pegged the run rate. Now South Africa needs 144 runs nearly at 6 RPO.

Australia thrash South Africa in second straight win in World Cup

SYDNEY (Australia): World one-day cricket champions Australia steamrollered to their second successive win in the world cup 1992 limited-overs contest here Monday when they crushed South Africa by 55 runs at the Sydney cricket Ground.

In a one-sided clash under a blue sky and a dusty pitch before a sell-out crowd of 24,500, Australia scored a stiff target 229 before skittling their opponents for 174 in the day-night confrontation.

Australia?s win takes the home nation back to the top of the competition ladder with 8 points ? with Net run rate better than the other top points sharer Pakistan. South Africa, having lost their first game in the tournament are yet to score a point.

Belligerent opener David Boon smashed a century in one-day international ranks as Australia pummelled the South African in the last 25 overs batting first when skipper Allan Border won the toss. Then Australia?s pace and spin bowlers teamed up to rout their opponents in 49 of their allotted 50 overs. Speedster Bruce Reid led the way with 3-31 from nine explosive overs.

The old war horse David Boon at the top of the Australian order, bludgeoned 108 (9 fours) from 155 balls in the home country?s total of 229 for nine wickets. It was David Boon?s highest score for his country in the abbreviated form of the game and his fifth three-figure score on home soil.

Boon, the heftiest player in the Australian side, made light of fierce heat (the mercury topped 37.5 degrees Celsius/100 degrees Fahrenheit) and high humidity as he butchered the South African bowling in the second half of their inning. He had been at the crease for just over two and a half hours when he was finally removed by paceman Allan Donald, who bowled him as he attempted to glide the ball down the leg side.

Australia were given a slow start by Boon and Marsh(37), who posted 74 in the first 25 overs. The South Africans were bitterly disappointed when Boon, on 20, was ruled not out when he was beaten by a delivery from Donald and looked in front of the middle stump. England umpire Dickie Bird rejected the appeal. TV replays suggested Boon may have been lucky. In the South African innings, only Kepler Wessels (55) and Hudson (64) threatened to make substantial scores.

The first 25 overs of Sri Lanka innings was bowled by me and the next 25 overs was autoplayed.

KAPIL DEV RIPS THROUGH SRI LANKAN TOP ORDER

sp-9.jpg

India?s ace bowler Kapil Dev struck three times in his opening spell to rock Sri Lanka back on their heels as they went in search of setting an unknown target on the damp pitch here at Canberra in the World cup group match.
Kapil Dev dismissed South African opener Samarasekara in his first over while Manoj Prabhakar claimed the other opener Mahanama and the middle order batsman Gurusinghe. Kapil Dev then picked up the prize wickets of Ranatunga and Tilakaratne whom were looking at ease. Kapil Dev and Manoj Prabhakar ripped the Sri Lankan top order to have Sri Lanka 7 for three at one stage. And when Javagal Srinath picked up the wicket of the Sri Lankan captain Aravinda DeSilva, South African had been reduced to 56 for four 15 overs into their innings.

Kapil Dev took his first wicket with his third ball when Samarasekara edged the ball to the first slip where Vinod Kambli gleefully accepted the catch. Mahanama had scored only a single run and the first wicket had fallen with just one run on the scoreboard.

Mahanama fell in Manoj Prabhakar?s next over, bowled through the gate thanks to a seaming delivery. He made only 3 with South Africa now 2 for three.

Indian supporters didn?t have to wait long before Manoj Prabhakar struck again to remove Gurusinghe to an excellent deliver pitched on leg and seamed big to take the off stick.

Aravinda DeSilva and Ranatunga batted well to take the score then to 56 when Srinath struck to remove Aravinda DeSilva playing a terrible shot trying to go over the top caught at mid on by V.Raju.

Kapil Dev then struck twice before ending his spell first remove a comfortable looking Ranatunga to bowl him through the gate and Tilakaratne edged one through to Gully to offer Srinath an easy catch.

The premier bowler of India Kapil Dev bowled an unchanged first spell of 10 overs for just 16 runs claiming 3 wickets.

These 25 overs were autoplayed

Sri Lanka set India a stiff target, thanks to Jayasuriya and Ramanayake

Sanath.jpg

Sri Lanka helped by their tail and the exciting Jayasuriya set a stiff target of 201 runs to get on this damp pitch on an overcast day.

After being 85 for 6 after 25 overs Sri Lanka looked out of depth on this seaming pitch, the overcast conditions also providing plenty of swing for the Indian pacers. Ramanayake and Jayasuriya fought hard to put a crucial 69 runs partnership for the 8th wicket to secure Sri Lanka a defendable total.

While rest of the top order batsmen looked out of sorts on this pitch Jayasuriya hammered a 88 ball 68 with 10 fours and a six. Ramanayake also contributed an aggressive 44 runs off only 42 balls with 3 fours and a six. Despite Ramanayake getting out to Manoj Prabhakar when Sri Lanka was on 165 Jayasuriya changed gear and slammed a quick 50 in the end to take Sri Lanka to a total of 200 which looks sufficient on this pitch.

India will be kicking themselves for allowing the tail to wag and allow Sri Lanka to get to a total of 200.
