19th Match, Group F: West Indies v India at Bridgetown

Its like a test match!! Oh, beauty catch! Roger Harper eat your heart out!!!

India have been pretty dismal so far this tournie. Rubbish batting and pretty poor bowling. I don't know if the flatness of tracks in India, the IPL or a combination of other factors is to blame, but they certainly are looking pretty pathetic in comparison to a few other teams so far.

(Odds they will go and prove me wrong in this innings :p)

In fairness to Vijay, he did middle the ball. Unfortunately whacked it straight to the fielder. Much like what Pietersen's done a couple of times this tournament.

Alright ok, they suck at short bowling...:-p. That was a terrific ball though. I think batsmen from all countries generally struggle against the short ball. There aren't too many batsmen who're brilliant hookers. I think teams should try this stratergy against every team.

I think its India's own strategy of getting flat decks at home thats gonna cost them. Stunner from Roach to get Gambhir back to the pavilion. Although The Windies target is fairly chaseable if two Indian batsmen get starts and make use of them

5.4
Sammy to Sharma, no run, back of a length, bounces at it, Rohit looks stunned - as if it is not supposed to bounce at him

Loving the commentary on cricinfo. Seems like the Indians are genuinely all at sea when they have a pitch which has even a hint of life on it. As BKB said, I think the Indian stratergy of being flat track bullies back in India has really shot themselves in the foot.

A well bowled Short bowl can knock any batsmen out (eg Gambhir's dismissal)
Indian batsmen struggle with Short Length deliveries. Thats their problem. I think they are not the only one. We struggle against the short bowls as well, but no one has gone for an all-out short ball attack to us yet ;)

They already have to score at more than 10 an over from now on, seems pretty unlikely in my experience.

That's because no one has time to work your batsmen out, because you go through XI's quicker then a fat man in a cake shop :p
