2021 ICC Men's T20 World Cup - India (UAE/Oman)

Honestly think Afghanistan is due a major upset.
I think all the talks of there being a 3-way tie if NZ beat Pak can be shifted to NZ-Ind-Afg for the second spot. If it's a 3-way tie there (Afghanistan needs one upset, and they're well-capable of it), it would mean Afghanistan goes through because of that gaudy NRR.

Nothing with respect to de Kock, just a statement to put out there,

Black lives matter.
White lives matter too.

As it turns out, every human life matters.
Sorry but this is the lamest thing one can say when BLM is discussed.

BLM is about spreading awareness about the discrimination faced by a section of people because of their skin colour in our modern current world. Its not undermining the value of other lives.

Its like going to a Breast Cancer Awareness rally and saying All Cancer Matters

???

Did you read further conversation? Everything is clarified.

And for the record I am in no way supporting de Kock. If that is what it looks like, I am clarifying that what de Kock did was not appreciated even by me.

I specifically kept de Kock out of the equation.

Seeing both my favourite teams lose their first matches would be a terrible start to the WT20 2021 Super-12.

Was also backing Scotland:sco: to give tough times to their opposition but they lost by 130+ runs yesterday.

Won't be surprised if South Africa/Sri Lanka takes the title (the teams I least expected to win)
Same boat, India and WI and NZ :(

The De Kock debate:

1) Christianity dictates one shall bend no knee (not going into depth irt this)
2) Initially it was a players choice to either do it or not. De Kock chose not to do it against Australia ... CSA then unforced bending the knee taking away his freedom of choice.

De Kock I feel personally have no issues irt the BLM campaign. Like most we all condemn discrimination against any race.

I personally feel it's got to do with both him being a devoted Christian and CSA dictating to players to bend the knee that made him withdrew against WI.

Poor guy ... Imagine having to chose between playing for your Country or standing up for your values. No athlete needs to be put in such a situation ...

There's quite a few people I'd like to reply to, but I have stuff to do. I might try to later.

I don't want this thread to become politics over cricket, but I think it is relevant given what has happened and it is worth talking about. I can understand the view that we should keep politics out of sport but politics is everywhere, you can't.

Also I don't want to be a white guy lecturing people about racism. One thing I love about this site is the chance to talk about cricket with people from around the world. I do value that opportunity. One reason I've taken greater interest in Indian politics is because of coming on this site.

I'm feeling engaged about this after having someone (Indian I believe), unironically tell me to 'imagine the outrage' if a quota system was used against 'so called people of colour.' I think reading that may have reduced my IQ. But that's what you get from going on Reddit.

And @Parth D I certainly didn't want to single you out and or suggest that you have bad intentions. You are someone who I always enjoy interacting with on here. I just think, as some others have pointed out, that certain statements can come across as being misinformed. Whether that is the intention or not.
Agreed that's the beauty of PC Forums, Cricket unites us a lot.
