2021 ICC Men's T20 World Cup - India (UAE/Oman)

Meanwhile the South African cricket board has said all players have to take the knee for the remainder of the tournament.
The board recognised concerns that "the different postures taken by team members in support of the BLM initiative created an unintended perception of disparity or lack of support for the initiative", and feel it is "imperative for the team to be seen taking a united and consistent stand against racism, especially given South Africa's history."

They must've been in the same thread I was discussing this on Reddit. :lol

Quinton out for personal reasons.
Don’t wanna speculate, but might be because he didn’t wanna take the knee?
Honestly feel it should be up to the players to decide, it’s a personal decision.

Hey CK stop jinxing man!!!! We know you stand a great chance of beating the Kiwis with the sort of team you have plus how familiar you have been with these conditions.
Yes, we’re definitely favourites, but can’t shake off the "unpredictables" tag for now. Have to show some consistent performances.

Sounds like it.

I agree it should be a personal choice but I also would have no problem taking the knee.

Pommie and Daren Sammy going hard:

"Excuse me for being political but I cannot shed my skin"
"Why is it so difficult to support this movement.... after what my kind have been through."

Yes, it’s a small gesture that no one should have a problem with.
But I don’t agree with CSA compelling players, especially at this stage, at a World Cup. Just shooting themselves in the foot, just like 2015. This step could've been taken much earlier, so you can deal with the aftermath and move on before the World Cup.

Simmons needs to hit out now. No point hanging around.

Talking of gestures, looks like the Indian team also took the knee to support BLM. Commendable

And then Shami was trolled viciously after the loss and accused of playing for the other team because of his religion - I hope BCCI will have the guts to ask the players to take a stand for their own teammate as well
