On the flip side correct me if I’m wrong least India and SL were known for slower pitches, now most of the Indian pitches have been doctored into roads?
My interest dwindled, with India winning across all formats life as an anti-Indian poster became very difficult. Honestly I just dont got that passion for the game anymore, though I did watch through a couple of these T20 matches going on now in the WC. I sincerely hope no
cricket fan rid their passion like I did. Bevab in those days as prime Satan666 I brought out a fire in all the Indian posters…to this day most of them realized what my game was all about and believe it or not the guys from that era that are still active today always show a mutual respect.
Sri Lankan pitches are ones where you need three spinners these days although they’ve become more swing friendly in comparison to once. Southee, Lakmal and Anderson all have good performances there. Indian pitches are more of a mixed bag now, they used to be very spin friendly a few years ago but now plenty of them are batting surfaces that has something for spinners and seamers who bowl a certain way. Still got some spicy tracks like Chennai and Ahmedabad though.
I wouldn’t call any pitch these days as a road in test cricket honestly. The reason why everyone was riled up on Pakistan’s home test pitches was because of how anachronistic it was to have a true road again. If it were a test from the 2000s it would not have even been a talking point. Most surfaces now are very bowler friendly and the roads of the 2000s are but a relic with a few exceptions (like MCG on boxing day).
