2022 ICC Men's T20 World Cup - Australia

Forget Rohit, I don't think Even Babar and Jos is best captain... Jos got best T20 team which have plenty of hitters and decent allrounder... Babar got best bowlers and luck...
As a bowling captain, Babar has not put a foot wrong the whole tournament. The only blunder was not playing Wasim Jr. vs India, but that’s a selection blunder, not an on-field captaincy issue.

What about against India... As I said, he goes by book... He have best bowlers who not give up easily... If something goes worng, he can't able to make any adjustments to his pre-planned way...

Mate, he did exactly that, held Nawaz back against India. Almost worked. Only Kohli's genius and luck took that match away.
Against Zimbabwe and Bangladesh, he didn’t bowl Nawaz at all. Used Wasim Jr. and Iftikhar in different ways according to the situation. Bowled out Shaheen early against NZ, used Naseem at the death instead.
Held every single team to a low total.

Good that the Indian media and fans are slowly starting to talk about Rahul Dravid's utility as a coach in T20I format. Memes are coming out about how Hardik Pandya - Ashish Nehra should be the new T20I captain-coach. Though thats a silly perspective (Nehra cant be made coach just like that, based on one IPL win where he wasnt even main coach), its good that people are starting to put Dravid accountable. Till now, Dravid was always put on that "holier than thou" pedestal. Its time he's judged for the team's performances.

His annoying backing of KL Rahul is there for all to see. Also his comment yesterday about Indian player participation in overseas leagues, was archiac. Test cricket is good and all, but its not the direction the world is moving towards. T20 format is already the mainstream and T20 World Cups will keep gaining momentum and importance as years go by. It is important that Indian players are allowed to play other leagues. If that means they dont play much domestic cricket and if India's feeder line for tests gets compromised, so be it! People give importance to championships if they are played within a short period of time (2 months). Test championships and ODI Super League will never match the hype of a World Cup / Champions Trophy.

It will send a riple effect through test cricket when Indian players are awarded NOC to compete in other leagues. The question though is if the other leagues can afford Indian cricketers? I guess the CPL and New SA league can since there are a couple Indian owned franchises in those leagues. BBL is huge and perhaps bringing in Indian players can bring in more numbers.

Dont know guess TV deals could be worked out to tap into the raw billion plus Indian raw fuel for a viable financial stream. As I said it will change cricket as we know it but perhaps this is the hand that has been dealt.

It's been evident that India haven't been good enough in Powerplays, both batting and bowling apart from a few occasions. On the batting front, it's obvious Prithvi Shaw needs to come in. Up till now it looks like KL has a mental block where he can't resist playing an anchor role and playing freely which he's done before. Rohit for a while has been struggling to get a quick start.

The selection of Ashwin made the least sense, espacially playing alongside Axar. Both guys cut from the same cloth basically, aren't wicket takers but keep a lid on the scoring which is all great unless the pace bowlers can't get wickets. Most teams have an attacking leggie, which probably would've added more depth to India's bowling attack if they played Chahal.

As for the pace bowlers, Shami did really well to cover for Bumrah for the most part, despite not having played any T20I's prior to the WC. Would like to see Deepak Chahar if he brings the same form he's had in the last few years, would be a big boost to India's powerplay bowling. Bhuvi just hasn't been the same ever since his injury long ago, been inconsistent and not paticularly threatening with the new ball. Ideally, an attack of three quicks in Bumrah, Chahar, Arshdeep and two spinners in Chahal and Axar/Jaddu would be a solid attack for the 2024 T20 WC.

In a way, Harshal Patel's selection for the WC squad forced India to go defensive and pick both Axar and Ashwin in the XI. In hindsight, Deepak Chahar offers a lot more than Harshal based on the fact that Arshdeep has been pretty good at the death and Bhuvi's form has been inconsistent. Puzzling that Harshal was even picked, given his success mainly relied on slower balls on slower pitches, where the pitches for the Super 12 games didn't seem that way.

The guy always been a failure in his career. Only for MI he won some games as a leader? Lets be honest the IPL is the worse league in the world as shown by India’s continued failing in T20 internationals.

If this is indeed a resignation then good on him though from what I’ve been told they planned on sacking him and handing the captaincy to Hardik. Nohit just saving face here. The way he abused the young guys like Arshdeep showed what a horrible leader this guy is!
