Kohli the culprit there for Surya's dismissal. This is why I said match over for India.

If we lose this match, the loss is on Iyer. His role at 4 is to hold the innings and guide towards victory. His shot selection has been atrocious.

Also wtf was that with mid inning laser show. That completely lost KL’s concentration.

We keep finding ways to lose against New Zealand.

I think that's KL Rahul's role so the loss is on him.

The way we've been giving away wickets today is just ridiculous. We're practically serving New Zealand a chance to stay in the game with these careless dismissals. Gill and Iyer have been tossing their wickets away way too often. We can't be too hard on Rohit since he's playing his role, and sometimes, he will get out taking risks. But Gill and Iyer? No excuses for the way they've been getting out in the last few games.

But KL has been consistently playing well since his return. He or Kohli or Rohit are bound to fail a match and that is ok, Iyer, Gill have a long way to go.

Surpised to see that Iyer's average against full balls by pacers isn't too dissimilar from his average against bouncers. Does he just camp on the backfoot expecting short balls, and isn't in the ideal position to play fuller ones either?

Ferguson has returned to being average after those two wickets from loose shots.

Iyer and Gill seem to lack the patience here. Mode of dismissals too, has been pretty soft. As a part of the World Cup team, they aren't required to prove a point to anyone. Play the waiting game, the rest will fall in line.

As for Iyer vs short balls, personally feel he has improved against it. But then, there seems to be a compulsiveness to over attack such deliveries.
