Pehle apni team ki halat dekho, fir dusro par haso!

First look at your own team, then laugh at others.
Nobody is laughing on India.
You are once again, as always throughout this World Cup, seeing the "opinions" of some people on social media, and coming here and taking out your frustration on Pakistani users here.
I can easily go and look for shitty opinions of Indian social media users, who mock poor people in Pakistan and call us all terrorists, and post their tweets here and target all you guys. But the difference is that i can differentiate between sensible people, like most Indian users here, and idiots on social media.
Stop trying to target us by using idiotic social media opinions as an excuse!

Literally no one on the forums did that - you saw something on the Twitters and the Facebooks and have come here to air out your frustrations because no one will listen to you if you did that there.

You've literally made it a part of your personality to bring up Farid Khan's idiotic Tweets when you've been repeatedly told they're not funny and worthwhile. But you keep doing it and laugh at it and mock it (which is deserved btw), only to point fingers at others when they do the same to you.

Thoda dil bada karo, at least these fools that trolled you guys tonight were normies. Not ex-cricketers with high stature and influence like Irfan Pathan and Virender Sehwag (what was that bullshit about bye-bye Pakistan?), lol.

Nope, not talking about any particular social media handle. Just talking about things in general which also include people from here.

Nobody is targeting anyone, as usual you are blowing things out of proportion. Also my post had zero mention about people on SM. I just said that there were 1 billion people rooting for India and rest were obviously rooting for Aussies. I also said that its sad that you will still not see any success in test cricket = best cricket.

Not because all Pakistanis are seen as terrorists as I have zero mention of it, but because of shitty politics which you yourself are aware.

So no point bringing in the card of social media and terrorism. Has nothing to do with it. Its all go to do with what I replied on what was the conversation.

Its been matches and matches since I brought that idiot up. Ek baar jo mane commitment kar di toh fir mein sirf @Bigby Wolf ki sunta hu :laughter:.

Show me the last time I brought him or any other trolls into conversation after I mentioned I wont? Stop over reacting to everything said and let others mourn the loss. Not everything is about Pakistan and their trolls and their fans. Never mentioned any particular country in my post.

Once again to reiterate, all I said is other teams dream of touching successes like what Indian cricket has touched despite having 0 cups to show. Just said they all which includes 20 + countries should look at themselves first before pointing finger at this team.

No idea where terrorism or anything else came from.

Also this is supposed to be a safe space to talk. You have a problem with ex cricketers trolling your team? Bring it here we will all abuse together cause what is wrong is wrong.

If you think me bringing uo what I feel which was not disrespectful in anyways as it is made to seem for discussion was wrong,’fine. I am out of discussions.

Not at all! I'm just saying, if you can dish out against others, then you can surely laugh a bit (or allow others to laugh) at your own misery too. Besides, if you didn't laugh you'd cry, so it's better to laugh it off. That's why the "phir dusro pe haso" is just not something I agree with. Kyun bhai?

And for the record, you didn't mention Pakistan by name, but you did quote a post about the Pak v Aus series that's coming up. You can't begrudge us for thinking it was for/about Pakistan. Can't be about Australia as they've just won the World Cup, genuinely thought that's where you were directing it.

Regardless, I didn't mean to come off as aggressive as I think I did.

I also said that its sad that you will still not see any success in test cricket = best cricket.
Totally not bitter and taking your frustration out on something unrelated :laughter:
But it's okay, as someone who has also said some things i regret after tough losses, i can understand. I know you're a good guy regardless.

I hope the Indian users who were justifying BCCI choosing a slower pitch will agree with me now. There is no use in trying to interfere with a great team, you only risk messing things up.
If this had been a quicker, flatter pitch, India could have made 350+ and won the match by not panicking and giving Shami the new ball in response to a low-ish total

I’m in two minds over this result.

On one hand Australia won despite having just two bowlers average below thirty and have a dysfunctional side that made no sense in terms of roles which makes me think that this was the only time they win if you were to play this fixture ten times in a row.

On the other hand their plans for today were spot on and they wanted to win more than our side who were in the mindset of turning up and winning inevitably with a huge crowd backing them which just means they’d win every time out of ten just because they had the ingredients to outfox us.

Unlike the NZ game a slow pitch here should have suited us more than them on paper. And yet… our team lost.

I thought Australia's plans in the field were smart; the field placements in the powerplay saved them runs early on, but rotating the bowlers constantly in the middle overs was a good choice. On a slow, niggly pitch; it didn't allow the Indian batters to really line anyone up.

It's funny that we were discussing the balance of an ATG Aussie side and this one pretty much went with the 4 bowlers + 3 others. They got 10 overs for 44 from them and perhaps the game-changing wicket of Rohit. India had the five bowlers and only one went at a economy rate lower than the 'fifth' Australian bowler and that was by one run. Cummins was excellent and I thought Zampa was quiet but very effective.

That long tail really caused problems. I've no real problem with how KL and Kohli played, if they'd had tried to tee-off it could have been a lot worse. It was clear new batters struggled to get in and the reverse swing was hugely beneficial at that crucial period when India were looking to get to the back end with some wickets in hand. Kohli, Rahul and Jadeja all got done by slight misfortune or just very good bowling. SKY didn't seem to really know what to do, get any runs or perhaps just hog the strike and wait for bad balls, but they bowled well to him too.

It was one of those matches where, if the roles were reversed, Kohli and KL could easily have done what Head and Labuschagne did, when knowing what the target was. Even though they won with seven overs left I think India weren't far off a par score. 275 would have been challenging but the lack of wickets in the second powerplay (which is where that Shami/Siraj swap felt desperate) just meant the momentum was never stalled. Once it got to 50 (maybe even below 100) it felt game over and as though India had run out of ideas.

I think it has to do with the planning, both pre-game and in-game. I thought the way Cummins rotated his bowlers was fantastic, and the Aussie fielding was great. They also chose to field first on a pitch that was likely to not be like the previous ones in Ahmedabad, based on recent reports, so that India would have to figure out the ideal score while batting on it, which, looking at that Kohli-Rahul partnership, they could not do. When chasing, they attacked early, survived some good bowling while not collapsing entirely, and attacked the balls that were there to be hit, with a clear role for Head as the aggressor and Marnus as the guy holding up an end.
In 2021, they won with a dysfunctional side thanks to the toss deciding 90% of the match in the UAE. In 2023 they won because better structured teams couldn't capitalise on the day.

I beg to differ. Obviously the Aussies bowled brilliantly (as expanded upon below), but surely with the World Cup at stake you take more risks.

It wasn't especially stirring viewing - like that matters - but they kept a batting order that had hit 397, 410, 326 and 357 in their last four games to four boundaries in total after the powerplay. Four. It's so incredible it bears repeating. Virat Kohli, KL Rahul, Shreyas Iyer, Suryakumar Yadav and Ravindra Jadeja, four boundaries after the powerplay.

I beg to differ :p

Not sure if India is better structured. We've all felt for ages that without Pandya they have weaknesses, particularly with the bowling. Plan A has just been extremely effective.

Australia had seven bowlers and they could have used them flexibly. Even Labuschagne is probably a better bowler than whoever India could've gone too as a sixth.

Likewise, Cummins and Starc can offer more with the bat, so the top order can push harder even after early wickets.

Ultimately the rigid nature of the XI got exposed twice with bat and ball. England, for example managed to expose the batting weakness but Australia managed to get into the both.

Even if Australia's side sort of fell together it was a formula that gave them enough flexibility.

Fair points. Sixth bowler and the tail is where Australia have the edge. However, when you look at Australia's batting, it is quite weaker than India, especially Smith and Marnus at 4-5. And their bowlers were certainly not as incisive as India's. So i stick to my argument that they planned and executed much better on the day.

Don't disagree. On their day this Indian XI beats anyone. They can recover from below par batting or bowling but harder when things don't go to plan in both disciplines.

VK and KLR certainly wasn't a good partnership but I could understand what they were doing and why. They had two guys to come whose form is shaky and then four number 10/11s.

Even at three down Head could keep up the pace cause there's four guys who can at least hold their end still to come.
