Test status and full membership need to be immediately separated. Netherlands clearly deserve full membership without having to play Tests.

No one would force them to play tests, so full membership and tests aren't essential. It's not like they'd be placed into the WTC. Afghanistan women have test status and they don't even have a team.

Fair enough, but it seems to me that the criteria for full membership seems to be the ability to play Test cricket at a certain skill level. That’s the hurdle.
Afghanistan's women have Test status because it comes automatically when the men’s team gains it

It's an interesting one I remember someone pointing out that the same wouldn't happen if Thailand women continued to play well and above their level. No chance Thailand get full member status.

The problem is both Ireland and Afghanistan both had the Intercontinental Cup to play whereas that's been scrapped. They really should introduce something like that again for Zimbabwe, Afghanistan and Ireland with two or three other associates. Four day test matches exist so they could grant them temporary test status at least if playing at level is a barrier for entry.

The criteria was to have a functioning domestic FC structure and a women’s team that was functioning wasn’t it? In the case of Afghanistan they promised to make the latter a reality and since then conveniently shoved it under the table and have passed the buck on to the new regime since then.

They should take a proportion of Afghanistan's funding and give it to Netherlands, Scotland, Thailand and other associates that do maintain women's teams. I'm sure they'd welcome it.

I’d absolutely love this. Afghanistan was never interested in having a proper women’s team, that much is for sure.
