Cause he can't bowl himself! If someone tells Babar that the plan is to bowl Shadab no matter what, he will do it. I fervently hope that nobody asks him to ask Imam to bowl.

That said, I'm surprised with Pakistan really. 2nd game at the same venue- why this lack of intensity despite familiarity with the ground?

How did Sri Lanka end up for less then 350? They should have scored atleast 375-400. The game is still on and the big three of Pakistan will need to step up again in Babar, Rizwan and Ifti chacha! If Pakistan chase this down, they should be favorites going into all matches.

Abduallah Shafique came in so let's see how he takes over from Fakhar Zaman. I really hope Pakistan plays positive cricket, clearly, the slower balls started sticking a bit in the end and with SL's spinners they will actually be able to do what Pakistani spinners couldn't!

This is just sub continent culture. I was watching with a friend and I told him twice that when Nissanka got to 50, he would get out. Once Mendis got to 100, I told him he will just try to hit every ball to Colombo now and that's what happened. ODI's is a long T20 on flat decks and once someone get a ton they need to bat with the same tempo and the same focus. It doesn't mean you go into a shell and it doesn't mean you start looking to hit every ball. A hundred might be the ceiling for an individual but the time taken to get to a hundred is time elapsed in a game and a new batter will always need time to get in or hit it the same way someone who has got a ton does. The other day, Markram managed to do it but 8/10 times it doesn't happen. If today one of the more accomplished teams was at 230/2 there is no way they finish less than 375. May be not 400 because it's high risk batting but below 375 is poor execution or rather letting the opponents back in the game because you're satisfied you made a 100.

To try to make my point clearer, I would rather have Kohli batting for India on 120 not out at the 40 over mark than SKY on 100. SKY might get you to 450-500 even on the freak occasion but Kohli will ensure you get to 400 almost all times. He will not give it away till the slog is 100% on.

It was the first game I fully watched. What a roundabout and wasteful way to ruin my perfectly good mood
