1 hour is a very tight deadline tbh. Can be easily exploited.
To be honest, I would like a 12 hour window, cover's all timelines. Gives a relief to owners who might have other commitments.
There are 25 rounds. We'll be here all month doing auctions if it's any longer then a couple of hours!

The thing is, any deadline can be exploited. 12-hour and 24-hour deadlines are way too long and can also be exploited, and they're gonna make this last forever. We have to fill up 10 teams with 18 players (at least).

So we're left with shorter options, maybe a couple of hours at best. I personally feel like the shorter the time for the last bid to expire the better. It makes the most sense.

Think of real-life auctions, you don't really get days to think over how much you should or should not bid. Usually, it's "Basil Thampi going once... Basil Thampi going twice... Basil Thampi SOLD!".

So if you don't speak up and say your bid (for whatever reason), that's on you. The Auctions are meant to be short and sweet and chaotic, having deadlines (like 12 or 24 hour), allowing deliberation between managers and prolonging it for days kills all that.

In a perfect world, the deadline for a player getting the 'sold' tag should really be 15 minutes. 15 minutes after the final bid. If you're not here, that's on you.

I could just bid around 3 AM Indian time and gain an advantage over 80% managers.
If we do 15 minutes after last bid, we can have LIVE Pools. It makes the most sense logically and if we are to emulate realistic auctions.

Can we increase this to maybe 90 mins or 2 hours? It's hard for everyone to be online every hour
15 minutes after final bid?

Think of it as video game raids (Injustice 2, PUBG etc.)... all members are usually active during them and they last an hour (at max), everyone can partake and contribute, and if someone unable to take part for whatever reason, they let the raid runner (me in this case) know beforehand. If it's a majority, the raid (auctions) get postponed to when everyone's available.

If you're a sole manager and aren't unable to come live, that's understandable. There are arrangements that can be made (interim caretaker, delays, postponements etc.), but if you're in tandem then really, at least one of you can show up for an hour or so.
Can a Team be actively bids all 7 players at same time?
Yes, yes you most certainly can.
Duplicate Pools A & E
Fixed.

Real-life the managers are sitting in one hall.
I will happily do whatever you like but I don't feel this will be best.

That is 1 player at a time with all owners present at that time. If we're doing this, then a real life like auction is okay. This current way won't work tbh, think of it logically. It's also not like we are in the same time zones. When we in India will be sleeping, TV sitting in Australia can assemble the squad of his choice.

If the auctions are done LIVE, then players will only be put up when I'm around. And I'll be around when all but one manager will be around. TV has a co-manager who can look after his team in his absence.

I literally went in the DMs of everyone who's not in an Indian timezone and asked if the 12:00 PM GMT worked for them, and they all said yes.

Same thing then. 1 player at a time x 12 players from a pool = one entire day for a pool. That's 25 days. :crying:

If we really wanna do auctions, then at least one manager from every team has to be present at the same time. 15 minutes per bid will decrease the length of a) the pools, so the auctions don't last forever and b) the managers can easily scoot after a round ends since it doesn't last as long and c) no one can pick/bid on players when the majority of people aren't around.

What if a team gets limited numbers bids to place on a player... Like team get only 3 or 4 chance to bid on a player, so within that limitation, team need post there best bid on a player...

Or we can have like a fixed time period for every round maybe, and everyone gets sold at the end of it. Then we wait for a time period where everyone is comfortable and then start the second round. Preferably the time that everyone is free can be the end time for the round

To prevent last second sniping, a bid made 15/30 mins before the end of the round means that the player is not sold at the end and then whenever there is a 30 min period where no bids are made on the player, the player can be sold.

Just an idea, something like this will help everyone be satisfied with their bids and not feel like they are being left out because of timezones and simultaneously not unnecessarily delaying the auction. A "live" type auction will be the best for this format and the breaks between rounds can help everyone stay active through the whole thing

Just my two cents @Na Maloom Afraad - in order to avoid the "stress" of some Indian managers not being awake while I am awake: Have a gut-off time in between rounds. Pool A start 10 am IST closes 9 PM IST or something similar. Should a Pool finish earlier, move onto the next Pool with a similar cut off time.

Managers have enough restrictions on them, I think. Especially with all the time stuff. I think disallowing managers from bidding on a particular player more than a specific number of times is kinda dull.

If bids made in the last say, 15 minutes of the round are considered invalid then that just becomes the deadline of the round. And someone can snipe a player 15 minutes before it's foul to snipe a player.

That's exactly what I'm saying, but maybe I'm not doing a good job of putting my thoughts into words - whenever there is a 15-min period where no bids are made on the player, they are sold.

I'm likely to do that alongside going with LIVE auctions. We all go live at a certain time, but should the Pools fail to finish in time then the Pool is temporarily closed and no one is sold. We continue where we left off from the next day.
I do think the only way to make this work is if everyone is around at the same time and we do live auctions. Cutoff time for a round in case someone can (possibly) gain an unfair advantage but the Pool doesn't get concluded, but basically gets moved to the next day.
