I expect that at the end of the day the financial hit would be worse than embarassing themselves with this whole round and round 'will they won't they' when we all know India won't travel to Pakistan.

For a change, let's think of it from the Govt's POV. What can the BCCI do if they aren't grated permission? If the Govt percieves the threat to be high, they wouldn't allow the team to travel. Based off the article, the PCB chief has made a mention of how Pakistan travelled to India for the CWC23 but, in that case, they were well within their right to not to travel, right?

The only alternative here being that the ICC says- India can't participate, we will swap them out. However, the financial repercussions of such a move are far too huge for the ICC/PCB to even say this. I get that India might not reach the finals, crash out in the 1st round, but still the presence is enough to generate a considerable deal of excitement from the sponsors.

The BJP’s stance, intentionally or not, benefits from enforcing this divide in cricket because it strengthens their narrative. So yes, it feels like a forced “cricket apartheid,” but from their perspective, it’s also a political calculation based on cricket’s status in India.

I too for once and for all would like PCB and Pakistan government take stance. NO CRICKET with Indian whatsoever. In India, Pakistan or elsewhere. Stop this nonsense once and for all.

The ICC/BCCI chairman is the son of India's Home Minister, so that argument doesn't really fly.
