The worrisome factor for India being that NZ have had a decent spin work out today. Their middle order has spent adequate time and that too against quality spinners. Rana and Mehidy are good. From an Indian perspective, the Kiwis will eat up the 3 left arm spinners anyday.

Agree a little more mystery. But with Varun you also get those random off days. While we are not worried about a semi spot, trying Varun might not be a bad idea along with Arshdeep for Shami to give him good 1 and half week rest.

All four are in Asia, fabulous player in sub continent conditions, would like to see him perform in a full series or tournament in Sena countries. He has age on his side, hope he'll also start delivering in Sena countries, scoring these big ton's he is scoring here.

Only these last 3 years, his strike rate has been better, which is still below par for modern-day game (87 SR in 2023 and 89 SR this year).
