2nd PS3 T20 Champions Trophy- Completed

The tourney has really slowed down, and at the same time my interest in Ashes 09 is finally dying, well lets see what happens as this tourney goes on, maybe something can spark up the passion again.

dude u hv been involved in some good games and still ur interest is dying
i hv been playing this game since its release and still matches like the one i am in with gougie keeps my interest always alive
if there are enuf players i hope to play this game till the next one arrives

I was losing interest in cricket but these tourney have really got the hunger back... regarding tourney i agree to it having slowed down so :

1. I have posted multiple times reg Hmarkas participation but he is yet to respond (though I have seen his posts on other threads in the past week) and also other members have sent him PM's but he has not responded so in case he doesn't respond within the next 24 hours we would be going ahead and replacing him.

2. Group B members seem to be unhappy with the level of interest psymax78 is showing.. so I leave it to you guys to decide if he should be replaced?? If 2 members want a replacement we would go ahead and search for a 2nd replacement

3. good to see legendzee08 n gougie getting another game however cheesearni, gougie and legendzee08 since ur all in UK n timings are not a problem please exchange mails and set up a suitable time to complete ur games against each other...

I would prefer a replacement for psymax78. He is a good player, but seems too occupied with MW2. Nothing personal against him, but just want to move ahead on the tourney

I want in

Hey my PS3 id is

fasih82

I want to play in this tournament, I want South Africa, please add me ! thanks and regards Fasih

Hey guys, sorry for not responding.

I simply do not have the time anymore to dedicate 1.5-2 hours per game and my interest in AC09 is simply non-existent now.

Feel free to replace me, sorry for the inconvenience.

Thank you for informing... unfortunate to lose you again was hoping the tourney would reignite ur interest.. hopefully will see u coming back to the game sometime in the future...

Im always down for a one off friendly. have yet to play you lilas, hopefully this weekend we can at least have a friendly.

i think lilas from next time we shud concentrate on less players nothing against anyone but it will provide to speed to the tourney may it wud be small but it wud b rewarding as we 5-8 ppl wud still b playin ashes and to play amongst each other can be a good competition
we can organise something like 4 team tourney or for that matter only super six type format where less but commited members are involved and also we shud check timings like in Group A case all ppl are regular but somehow our timings are not matching at all

Lonewolf I think we have a committed bunch here only problem has been psymax who even with his lack of interest has been able to complete 3 games which is more than most members of group A have managed. I think its circumstantial as he was interested earlier but I guess by the time we started he had got hooked on to MW2.

The groups have been made based on time zones (baring the case of xtremedesix) however the time that generally suits u 6-9ist would always be a problem for anyone playing outside Asia. I have been able to complete 5 games but it is primarily because I have set up game times with legend, gougie n cheesearni on MSN.. I d advice u to please get in touch with these guys on MSN/PM/forum and set up a time for your games

Match : NZ V Zim
Venue : Antigua
Toss: Zim won and elected to bat

Zim:123 all out in 17.1 overs
NZ :124/3 in 9.5 overs

Summary:Zim won the toss and chose to bat.there were early hiccups with NZ bowlers bowlin a good line n length and Zim lost 3 early wickets with not much runs on board. Then came the partnership of Blignaut and Mazakadza with both pushing up the RR the spinner Vettori was introduced and he went for all boundaries of his six balls of first over.Zim were looking at a huge total with there RR around 9/9.5
The turn around from kiwis was surprisingly spinner Vettori who after his first over bowled magnificently and ultimately taking 5/38 off 4 overs an incredible performance and a match winning one

In reply NZ never looked like havin any prob and scored at a fast pace with McCullum scoring mind boggling 86 of 35 balls

MOM : Vettori for his magical 5 wicket haul

Zimbabwe(legend-zee08) Vs India(lilas11)
Venue: Lords(hosted by India)
Toss: India elected to bowl first

Zimbabwe 88 all out in 9.3 overs
B Taylor 23(12)
Y Pathan 3/0(0.3)
I Pathan 3/24(3.0)

India 92/5 in 7 overs
Y Singh 23*
H Streak 4/45(4.0)

India won by 5 wickets
Points: IND 3 ZIM 0

Ok guys ive just spoken to cheese, and he is willing to carry on in the tourney, but due to his limited access to play,he has no problem letting someone take his place, if a suitable replacement is found, who can commit more time to the game than him.

Group B: Aus (Thandamilk) vs SAF (Fasih82)

AUS (Thandamilk) vs SAF (Fasih82)
at Sydney (Home game for Australia)

Toss: South Africa

SAF 102 all out in 13.2
Morkel 47* (23), Clark 4/23, Johnson 3/14

Lost to

Australia 103/2 in 9.5
Johnson 24* (24), Hughes 34 (24), Ponting 33(11), Morkel 1/5

by 8 wickets
MoM: M Johnson for a good, all-round performance

-------------

Got my first game in with Fasih82 with him having replaced Psymax as South Africa in Group B.

South Africa's innings was propped up by a brilliant Morkel innings; while all around him wickets fell at regular intervals. Sensing the South African's relative discomfort against Johnson, Ponting bowled him out within the first 10 overs. The pressure Johnson created also helped the other bowlers pick wickets as the South Africans looked to attack.

No real worries during the Aussie chase with a quick half-century partnership between Hughes and Johnson being posted within the powerplays. Ponting came in at one drop and played a real cameo.

South Africa are a good team and having played their first match against the Aussies they've had the opportunity to size them up. The Aussies will be very aware that the return game will be a much tougher proposition for them.

Psymax has been replaced?

So does that mean his 3 games are disregarded?
